The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University is the executive head of the university. Upon the VC's appointment by the Governor of Lagos State, the VC has the overall responsibility for the policy and administration of the university. The Governor of Lagos state appointed Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello as the 9th substantive Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University on 16 September 2021. Lagos State University
Lagos State University, also known as LASU, is located in Ojo, with sub-campuses at Ikeja and Epe both towns in Lagos State, Nigeria. The university was established in 1983 by the enabling law of Lagos State, for the advancement of learning and establishment of academic excellence; its motto being ''For Truth and Service''. The university caters for over 35,000 students. The University was established during the Administration of Late Lateef Kayode Jakande. Jadesola Akande
Jadesola Olayinka Akande (CON, OFR) (15 November 1940 – 29 April 2008) was a Nigerian lawyer, author and academic who is regarded as the first Nigerian female professor of Law. Early life and education Akande Jadesola Olayinka was born on 15,November 1940, in Ibadan, Oyo State,defunct Western Region of Nigeria. Akande Jadesola Olayinka completed her nursery, basic and secondary school education at Ibadan People's Girls School and St. Annes School respectively. John Obafunwa
John Obafunwa is a Nigerian medical expert, pathologist, lawyer, author and former Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University. Early life and education Obafunwa was born in Epe, a local government area in Lagos State, South-Western Nigeria. He obtained a bachelor's degree in medicine from the University of Lagos. Prior to obtaining his post graduate certificate from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in 1987, he spent five years of residency training the Department of Morbid Anatomy, Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Fatiu Ademola Akesode (April 1940 – 30 March 2001) was a Nigerian professor of paediatrics, educational administrator, and former Vice-chancellor (education), vice chancellor of Lagos State University Lagos State, Nigeria. Enitan Abisogun Bababunmi (born 8 September 1940 – 29 May 2017) was a Nigerian academic and a Professor of Biochemistry who served as the third Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University between 1993 and 1996. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello (born 23 April 1964) is a Nigerian academic. She is a professor of physiology and the 9th Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University. Biography Olatunji-Bello was born in Ologbowo community Idumota, Lagos Island in defunct Western Region of Nigeria on 23 April, 1964.
