Vic Peters
Victor Alvin "Vic" Peters (March 24, 1955 – March 27, 2016) was a Canadian curler who was a three-time Manitoba curling champion, and one-time national champion as winner of the 1992 Labatt Brier. Peters was once considered a member of Manitoba's "Big Three", which consisted of himself, Kerry Burtnyk and Jeff Stoughton. These teams dominated curling in Canada and the world during the 1990s, winning four Labatt Briers and two world championships. Peters was noted for his tuck delivery alongside Burtnyk and Stoughton. Career Peters won his first and only national championship on his first visit to the Brier in 1992. This earned him a trip to the World Curling Championships in Germany where his team finished third. Steinbach, Manitoba
Steinbach () ( Plautdietsch: /ˈʃte̞nbah/ or /ˈʃte̞nbax/) is a city located about south-east of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Kevin Martin (born July 31, 1966), nicknamed "The Old Bear" and "K-Mart", is a Canadian retired curler from Edmonton, Alberta, an Olympic, World and four-time Canadian champion and a member of the World Curling Hall of Fame. He is considered by many commentators and former and current curlers to be the greatest curler of all time. Lymph Node
A lymph node, or lymph gland, is a kidney-shaped organ of the lymphatic system and the adaptive immune system. A large number of lymph nodes are linked throughout the body by the lymphatic vessels. They are major sites of lymphocytes that include B and T cells. Kaitlyn Lawes
Lesley Kaitlyn Lawes (born December 16, 1988) is a Canadian curler. Lawes was the long time third for the Jennifer Jones team that represented Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics where they won the gold medal. They were the first women's team to go through the Olympics undefeated and the first Manitoba based curling team to win at the Olympics. Lawes curled with John Morris in the mixed doubles event at the 2018 Winter Olympics where they won gold. This win made her and Morris the first Canadian curlers to win two Olympic gold medals, and Lawes was the first to win gold in two consecutive Olympics. Liz Fyfe
Elisabeth Fyfe (born May 11, 1987) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She attended the 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts as second on Kerri Einarson's Team Manitoba. She was a Canadian Junior Curling Champion having won the 2008 Canadian Junior Championships as a second on the Kaitlyn Lawes team. Fyfe is the daughter of former Brier champion Vic Peters. She currently plays second for Team Chelsea Carey. Career Juniors (2001–2008) As a junior, Fyfe won the Manitoba Junior championships in 2001 with teammates Allison Nimik, Kristin Loder and Lindsay Titheridge. The team finished with a 4–8 record at the 2001 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Fyfe tied for third best leads at the competition, curling an average 73% in the round robin. The Russian Revolution was a period of political and social revolution that took place in the former Russian Empire which began during the First World War. This period saw Russia abolish its monarchy and adopt a socialist form of government following two successive revolutions and a bloody civil war. Mennonite
Mennonites are groups of Anabaptist Christian church communities of denominations. The name is derived from the founder of the movement, Menno Simons (1496–1561) of Friesland. Steinbach Regional Secondary School
Steinbach Regional Secondary School is a large public high school located in Steinbach, Manitoba, the second largest high school in the province with over 1900 students. The school was built in 1972 and was opened by then premier, Ed Schreyer on January 25, 1973. A second expansion of 100,000 square feet to the school was completed in 2014 and grade nine was added to the school. The school offers extensive academic, arts, music and vocational programming. Chris Neufeld
Christopher D. Neufeld (born April 21, 1957 in Steinbach, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler from Steinbach, Manitoba. He played second for Vic Peters in the senior division. Neufeld was raised in Steinbach and attended the Steinbach Regional Secondary School where he met and competed at the high school level with Peters. After moving to Winnipeg and going pro, Neufeld and Peters curled their entire careers together, and during that time won 3 Provincial Championships, 1 National Championship in 1992 and also won the Manitoba Senior Men's Championships in 2008. Mike McEwen (curler)
Michael McEwen (born July 30, 1980 in Brandon, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba, who grew up in Brandon, Manitoba. McEwen won six Grand Slams in his career before his team qualified for their first Brier, Canada's national championship in 2016. He is noted as one of the top curlers using the Manitoba tuck delivery today. Career Early career In 1998, McEwen won his first of two Manitoba Junior championships, sending him and his team of David Chalmers, Bryce Granger and Kevin Schmidt to the 1998 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. There, he led his Manitoba rink to 9-3 round robin record, in 2nd place. This put the team in a semifinal match up against Ontario's John Morris. McEwen would lose the match 8–4, settling for third place.
