឴ Victorino Aranas Manuel (born June 18, 1987) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Amateur career Manuel possessed tremendous athleticism and agility uncommon for athletes his size. He played college ball at Philippine School of Business Administration as a member of PSBA Jaguars varsity squad under Coach Joseph Ocampo where he was awarded UCAA Most Valuable Player. He first rose from obscurity two years ago when he stole the spotlight from older, more experienced players to capture the PBL MVP plum as a player of Pharex B-Complex. Alaska Aces (PBA)
The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. The Aces won nine PBA championships in the 1990s, including a rare grand slam (winning three championships in one season) during the 1996 season, joining the Crispa Redmanizers (1976, 1983), San Miguel Beermen (1989), and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers ( 2013–14) as one of only four franchises to achieve the feat. Quinton Brian Heruela (born April 13, 1989) is a Filipino-American basketball player for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He was the 26th pick in the 2014 PBA draft by Blackwater. College and amateur career Heruela played for the University of Cebu Webmasters in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI). Luigi Trillo
Luis Antonio Trillo, (born July 13, 1975) better known as Luigi Trillo is the former head coach of the Alaska Aces in the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also the former head coach of the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems in the PBA D-League. Currently, he is the assistant coach of the Meralco Bolts. John Aldrech Ramos (born April 3, 1988) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Terrafirma Dyip of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). At 6'6", he plays both the small forward and power forward positions. Ramos is also a decent outside shooter. Angelico Tiu Salud (born June 17, 1962), better known as Chito Salud, is a Filipino lawyer and sports executive who currently serves as team governor of the Converge Fiber Xers in PBA. He was the first president and CEO of the Philippine Basketball Association and previously served as its eighth commissioner. Siverino A. "Nonoy" Baclao Jr. (born June 15, 1987) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Meralco Bolts of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). 2012 PBA Draft
The 2012 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) rookie draft was an event held at Robinson's Midtown Mall in Ermita, Manila on August 19, 2012 which allowed PBA teams to draft players from the amateur ranks. Draft lottery The lottery determined the team that will obtain the first pick on the draft. The remaining first-round picks and the second-round picks were assigned to teams in reverse order of their cumulative win–loss record in the previous season, with records from the Philippine Cup having heavier weight. The PBA Developmental League, or PBA D-League, is the Philippine Basketball Association's official minor league basketball organization. History The PBA D-League was conceptualized after the collapse of the proposed merger between the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and Liga Pilipinas after the staging of the ''Tournament of the Philippines'' which was composed by PBL and Liga Pilipinas teams. PBA Commissioner Chito Salud proposed the formation of a PBA D-League, which will fill the void left by the PBL. On January 25, 2011, the PBA Board of Governors approved the proposal.
