Caio Vianna Martins
Caio Vianna Martins (1923–1938) is a famous Scout and a Brazilian national hero. In the early hours of December 19, 1938, Martins was travelling with a group of Scouts from Belo Horizonte to São Paulo, when their passenger train collided head-on with a freight train near the city of Barbacena, resulting in many injuries and approximately 40 deaths. The Scouts worked through the night to assist the wounded until help began to arrive after dawn. Martins was struck in the back during the collision and suffered internal injuries. When rescue workers arrived and began carrying the wounded to the city on stretchers, Martins refused, saying that there were many other wounded who needed assistance more than he, and that "A Scout walks on his own leg." Accompanied by several friends, Martins walked to the city, but died of his injuries on December 20. Herbert Vianna
Herbert Lemos de Sousa Vianna (born May 4, 1961) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer mainly known for his work with rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso. Biography Herbert was born in João Pessoa, Paraíba. His father was from the military and, because of that, he moved to Brasília when he was still a child. There he met band member Bi Ribeiro. When they moved to Rio de Janeiro, they formed Os Paralamas do Sucesso (some still consider them part of the "Brasília gang", along with Capital Inicial and Legião Urbana) with their friend Vital Dias playing drums. Herbert's brother is the Brazilian anthropologist and cultural researcher Hermano Vianna. After Vital was replaced by João Barone, Herbert wrote the song "Vital e Sua Moto", to pay homage to his friend. João José "Pipoka" Vianna (born 15 November 1963), is a Brazilian former professional basketball player. At a height of 2.06 m (6'9") tall, he played at the power forward position. Professional career During his pro club career, Vianna won 5 Brazilian Championships, in the seasons 1985, 1986 (I), 1986 (II), 1987, and 2007. Vianna also played briefly with the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), during the 1991–92 season, becoming just the second Brazilian player to play in the NBA, after Rolando Ferreira. José Vianna Da Motta
José Vianna da Motta (modern spelling as 'Viana da Mota') (22 April 18681 June 1948) was a Portuguese pianist, teacher, and composer. He was one of the last pupils of Franz Liszt. The José Vianna da Motta Music Competition was founded in 1957 in his honor. Life José Vianna da Motta was born on São Tomé Island, a Portuguese territory at the time where his father, also a great amateur musician, had opened a pharmacy. Moving with his family to Continental Portugal, he settled in Colares, near Sintra, where he soon showed his unusual skills in music, and in playing and composing works for the piano. In Berlin he had lessons from Xaver Scharwenka and Philipp Scharwenka before studying with Franz Liszt at Weimar in 1885 and with Hans von Bülow two years later. Klauss Ribeiro Vianna (12 August 1928 – 12 April 1992) was a Brazilian dancer, choreographer and theater director. Biography Klauss Vianna was born in Belo Horizonte, in 1928, the son of physician João Ribeiro Vianna and the nurse Erna Maria Hapke Vianna, a native of Germany. In 1944, he started taking classic ballet lessons with Carlos Leite and later, in 1949, with Maria Olenewa in São Paulo. In Salvador, he studied dance and anatomy applied to movement. In 1952, he starts teaching dance in an improvised atelier in his own house, where he lived with his grandmother. In 1954, he would dance for the last time under another choreographer, his former teacher Carlos Leite. In 1955, the dancer and choreographer met his future wife Angel Vianna, who would continue his work after the choreographer's death. Oduvaldo Vianna Filho, known as Vianinha (4 June 1936 – 16 July 1974), was a Brazilian playwright. Vianinha was born in São Paulo. He started in theater as an actor, in 1955, with the Teatro Paulista do Estudante (São Paulo Students Theatre) group. Polemical and combative, Vianinha was part of Teatro de Arena and debuted as an author in 1959, with ''Chapetuba Futebol Clube''. Viana do Castelo () is a municipality and seat of the district of Viana do Castelo in the Norte Region of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 88,725, in an area of 319.02 km².
