VfB Auerbach
VfB Auerbach is a German football club from the city of Auerbach, Saxony. The club also has a tennis department. History The association was founded as the ''Auerbacher Fußball Club'' on 17 May 1906 making it the second-oldest side in Vogtland. They won their first title in the second class Gau Vogtland, part of the VMBV (Verband Mittledeutschland Ballspiel Verein or Federation of Central German Ballgame Clubs), in 1908. ''AFC'' was officially registered on 20 June 1913 and after World War I on 18 April 1919, with the introduction of departments for athletics, tennis, and winter sports re-made itself as the sportsclub ''VfB Auerbach 1906''. In the aftermath of World War II occupying Allied authorities ordered the dissolution of existing organizations in the country, including sports and football clubs. Regionalliga Nordost
The Regionalliga Nordost is the fourth tier of German football in the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia. These comprise the states of former East Germany as well as West Berlin. It is one of five leagues at the fourth tier, together with the Regionalliga Bayern, Regionalliga Südwest, Regionalliga Nord and the Regionalliga West. From 1994 to 2000 it was part of the third tier, until the first of many re-structurings of the league system. The last of these occurred in 2012, which saw the Regionalliga Nordost reinstated. Overview The Regionalliga Nordost was formed in 1994 to form a regional third level of play between the 2nd Bundesliga and the NOFV-Oberligas Nord, Mitte and Süd. Table tennis, also known as ping-pong and whiff-whaff, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball, also known as the ping-pong ball, back and forth across a table using small solid rackets. It takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Except for the initial serve, the rules are generally as follows: Players must allow a ball played toward them to bounce once on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opposite side. Stefan Schmidt (born 8 March 1989) is a German footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Regionalliga Nordost club VfB Auerbach. Career Schmidt came through the Chemnitzer FC's youth team, and made his first-team debut on the last day of the 2008–09 season as a half-time substitute for Enrico Keller in a 1–1 draw against 1. FC Magdeburg. For the next four years, he largely served as understudy to Philipp Pentke, and made 13 appearances in the 2010–11 season as the club won the Regionalliga Nord and promotion to the 3. Liga. In his first season at this level he was confined entirely to the bench, but he made eight appearances during the 2012–13 season when Pentke was out injured. He signed for Carl Zeiss Jena of the Regionalliga Nordost in July 2013. Thomas Stock (1750–1803) established the first Sunday school in the United Kingdom. Early life and education Thomas was the son of Thomas Stock, gentleman of Gloucester. The young Thomas was sent to John Roysse's Free School in Abingdon-on-Thames (now Abingdon School), where he was a boarder from 1761 to 1767. After Abingdon, he gained a scholarship to Pembroke College, Oxford and graduated BA 1771. Career Entering Holy Orders, Stock was elected to a college fellowship from 1771 to 1774 and then was curate at Ashbury in Berkshire (now Oxfordshire). The NOFV-Oberliga Süd is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the southern states of the former East Germany. It covers the German states of Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Saxony and southern Brandenburg. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football. Until the introduction of the 3.
