Veterans Park was a baseball ballpark in Mount Vernon, Illinois that served as the home field of the Mount Vernon Kings from 1947 to 1954. It was also known as Braves Field and Vernon Park. The park still exists without a ball field and is located at 800 South 27th Street, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864. Veterans Park is a city park in the downtown area of Holyoke, Massachusetts. Originally called Hampden Park when it was given to the city by the Holyoke Water Power Company in 1861, it was rededicated in 1962 to honor the city's military veterans. The park and a few surrounding buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012 as the Hampden Park Historic District. Included in this designation are St. Jerome's Church (built during the late 1850s), the Convent of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Lourdes (1869), and the former Central Fire Station (1914), and other buildings. Description and history Veterans Park is located in downtown Holyoke, occupying an entire city block bounded by Chestnut, Hampden, Maple, and Dwight Streets. Veterans Park Amphitheater is a 2,500-seat amphitheater located in Albany, Georgia. It is part of a sports, entertainment and convention complex that also includes the Albany Civic Center and Albany Municipal Auditorium. From its opening in the mid 1980s into the mid 1990s, the amphitheater was an anchor for two major annual events in Albany; ''River Days'' in the spring and ''Fall on the Flint''. It is now primarily used for concerts and Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day celebrations. Vietnam War Memorial In 1989, ''The Veterans of the Vietnam War Memorial'' was built and placed at the entrance of Veterans Park.
