Vetements
VETEMENTS (from ''vêtements'' []; French for "clothing") started in 2014 as a luxury fashion brand and "design collective" founded by Georgian fashion designers Demna Gvasalia and Guram Gvasalia. The brand became popular in just three short seasons. In 2019 Demna left the brand. Guram Gvasalia is the current Creative Director. Runway shows Vetements first collection was presented a gallery during the AW14-15 season in Paris, France. The second collection Vetements' first show, was for the SS15 season, and was presented at Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris, France. The third collection, AW15-16 was shown again during Paris Fashion Week, was shown at Le Dépot, a sex club in Paris. The SS16 show took place on October 1, 2015, at Le Président Restaurant in the Belleville neighborhood in Paris, France. Demna Gvasalia
Demna Gvasalia ( ka, დემნა გვასალია ; born 25 March 1981), known as Demna ( ) is a Georgian fashion designer, currently the creative director of Balenciaga and the co-founder of Vetements. Early life and education Demna was born in Georgia in 1981, to a Georgian Orthodox Christian family of Georgian father and Russian mother. He fled at age 12, during the 1992-1993 Russo-Georgian war in Abkhazia, and was forced to live in Tbilisi. His family lived in Düsseldorf from 2001 onwards. Demna & Guram Gvasalia
Demna (, a hypocorism for Demetrius, ) (born before 1155 - died c. 1178) was a Georgian royal prince and pretender to the throne proclaimed as king during the failed nobles’ revolt of 1177/8. He was the only son and heir of King David V, who had deposed his father, Demetrius I, in a palace coup in 1155. Shortly after David’s death (1155), Demetrius declared his younger son, George (the future King George III), heir apparent violating thus a principal law of succession and depriving Demna of his rights to the throne. The medieval Georgian and Armenian chronicles are confused about the circumstances in which David died. According to the medieval Armenian historians, George was somehow implicated in his murder though Georgian sources say nothing about it. The Boulevard Périphérique (), often called the Périph', is a controlled-access dual-carriageway ring road in Paris, France.
