Vestre Bokn
Vestre Bokn is an island in Bokn municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island is the main island of the municipality. It lies on the northern side of the Boknafjorden at the southern end of the Karmsundet strait. Vestre Bokn lies between the islands of Karmøy (to the west) and Austre Bokn and Ognøya (to the northeast). The main population centre on the island is the village of Føresvik, the administrative centre of the whole municipality. There are about 661 inhabitants on the island (as of 2014). Vestre Bokn is connected to the mainland via a series of bridges on the European route E39 highway which connect to Austre Bokn, then to Ognøya, and then to the mainland. There is a regular ferry route from the island across the Boknafjorden to the island of Rennesøy, which in turn is connected to the city of Stavanger by a series of roads, bridges, and tunnels. Stavanger Peninsula
Stavanger Peninsula ( no, Stavangerhalvøya) is a peninsula in Rogaland County, Norway. The peninsula is named for the city of Stavanger, located on its northeastern shore and it includes the most populous parts of the Greater Stavanger urban area. The peninsula extends from a line between the Sandnes harbour at the southern end of the Gandsfjorden straight west to the village of Ølbør in Sola municipality. This line runs just south of Stavanger Airport. The peninsula is delimited by the Gandsfjorden, Boknafjorden, Byfjorden, and the North Sea. Rogfast
Rogaland Fixed Link or simply the Rogfast is a project, constructing a sub-sea road tunnel between the municipalities of Randaberg (near the city of Stavanger) and Bokn in Rogaland county, Norway. The tunnel will be called the Boknafjord tunnel; it will be a world record with respect to its length and its maximum depth of below sea level. This will be a part of the main European route E39 highway along the west coast of Norway and it will link the cities of Kristiansand – Stavanger – Haugesund – Bergen. Rennesøy (island)
Rennesøy is an island in Stavanger municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies on the south side of the Boknafjorden, surrounded by several other islands. The islands of Mosterøy, Klosterøy, and Åmøy lie to the south and Finnøy and Talgje lie to the northeast. The villages of Vikevåg and Sørbø are both located on the island. The Hausken Church is located in Vikevåg and the 900-year old Sørbø Church is located in Sørbø. European route E39 is the designation of a north–south road in Norway and Denmark from Klett, just south of Trondheim, to Aalborg via Bergen, Stavanger and Kristiansand. In total, there are nine ferries, more than any other single road in Europe. In Trondheim, there are connections to E6 and E14. Ognøya
Ognøya or Ogn is an island in Bokn municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies between the mainland and the islands of Austre Bokn and Vestre Bokn. The islands are connected by a series of bridges as part of the European route E39 highway. The industrial area of Kårstø lies just north of Ognøya on the mainland. The island is mostly rocky and barren with little population. There is a small group of houses on the southern part of the island in the one relatively flat, arable area on the island. Austre Bokn
Austre Bokn is an island in Bokn municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The island lies on the northern side of the Boknafjorden between the islands of Ognøya and Vestre Bokn. It's connected to the other two islands and to the mainland by a series of bridges along the European route E39 highway. Both islands are separated from Austre Bokn by very small channels that are only about wide. Most of the island is barren, rocky, and uninhabited. The tall Vardefjellet is the highest point on the island. The majority of the island's population is located along the western and southern shores.
