Vesna Pisarović
Vesna Pisarović (born 9 April 1978) is a Croatian pop and jazz singer. Life and career 1978–1999: Early life Pisarović was born in Brčko, SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia and grew up in Požega, SR Croatia, a part of the same country until she was 13. From her earliest childhood she attended a music school, where she played the flute, sang in choirs and participated in various music contests. In the mid-1990s she moved to Zagreb, Croatia, where she graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She began singing in clubs and writing songs. In 1997, while performing at the Croatian festival Zadarfest, she met Milana Vlaović. Vlaović started to write songs for Vesna. 2000–2002: Breakthrough and the Eurovision Song Contest In 2002 Vesna Pisarović won the annual Dora festival, the event that determines Croatia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Brčko (city)
Brčko ( sr-cyrl, Брчко, ) is a city and the administrative seat of Brčko District, in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It lies on the banks of Sava river across from Croatia. As of 2013, it has a population of 39,893 inhabitants. De jure, the Brčko District belongs to both entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska) but in practice it is not governed by either; practically, Brčko is a self-governing free city. Dom sportova (), is a multi-purpose indoor sports arena located in Zagreb, Croatia. The venue was built in 1972 on Trešnjevka, in the western part of the city. It has 32,000 m2 of floorspace, and it features six halls. The seating capacity of the biggest two halls is 5,000 and 3,100. It is used for basketball, handball, volleyball, ice hockey, gymnastics, tennis, as well as concerts. It is the venue for the PBZ Zagreb Indoors men's tennis tournament. ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' () is a Croatian daily newspaper published in Split. The first issue of ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' was published on 17 June 1943 by Tito's Partisans in an abandoned stone barn on Mosor, a mountain near Split, while the city was occupied by the Italian army. The paper was later published in various locations until Split was liberated on 26 October 1944. From the following day onward, ''Slobodna Dalmacija'' has been published in Split. Croatia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song " Tick-Tock" written by Branimir Mihaljević, Max Cinnamon and Tihana Buklijaš Bakić. The song was performed by Albina. The Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final to select the Croatian entry for the 2021 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Fourteen entries competed in the national final on 13 February 2021 and "Tick-Tock" performed by Albina was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from ten regional juries and a public televote. Croatia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 18 May 2021. Performing during the show in position 10, "Tick-Tock" was not announced among the top 10 entries of the first semi-final and therefore did not qualify to compete in the final.
