Veselynove Raion
Veselynove Raion ( uk, Веселинівський район) was a subdivision of Mykolaiv Oblast of Ukraine. Its administrative center was the urban-type settlement of Veselynove. The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Mykolaiv Oblast to four. The area of Veselynove Raion was merged into Voznesensk Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was In 2001, population was 27,046. History The area was settled in the end of the 18th century. After 1834, the current area of the district belonged to Ananyevsky Uyezd of Kherson Governorate. Raions of Ukraine (often translated as "districts"; Ukrainian: ра́йон, tr. ''raion''; plural: райо́ни, tr. ''raiony'') are the second level of administrative division in Ukraine, below the oblast. Raions were created in a 1922 administrative reform of the Soviet Union, to which Ukraine, as the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, belonged. An uezd (also spelled uyezd; rus, уе́зд, p=ʊˈjest), or povit in a Ukrainian context ( uk, повіт), or Kreis in Baltic-German context, was a type of administrative subdivision of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, the Russian Empire, and the early Russian SFSR, which was in use from the 13th century. Veselynove ( uk, Веселинове; russian: Веселиново) is an urban-type settlement in Voznesensk Raion of Mykolaiv Oblast in southern Ukraine. It is located in the Chychyklia. Veselynove hosts the administration of Veselynove settlement hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. An okruha ( uk, округа) is an historical administrative division of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic that existed between 1923 and 1930.
