Verónica Cepede Royg (; born 21 January 1992) is a professional Paraguayan tennis player. On 7 August 2017, she reached her highest WTA rankings, WTA singles ranking of No. 73 whilst her best doubles ranking is No. 85, achieved on 19 September 2016. Cepede Royg has won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, one WTA 125 tournaments, WTA 125 doubles title, and 14 singles titles and 20 doubles titles on ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, ITF tournaments. Playing for the Paraguay Fed Cup team, Cepede Royg has a win–loss record of 61–26. The WTA rankings are the ratings defined by the Women's Tennis Association, introduced in November 1975. Iga Świątek is the current world No. 1. Ranking method The WTA rankings are based on a rolling 52-week, cumulative system. A player's ranking is determined by her results at a maximum of 16 tournaments for singles and 11 for doubles and points are awarded based on how far a player advances in a tournament. The basis for calculating a player's ranking are those tournaments that yield the highest ranking points during the rolling 52-week period with the condition that they must include points from the 4 Grand Slams, the 4 Premier Mandatory tournaments and the WTA Finals.
