Verse (poetry)
A verse is formally a single metrical line in a poetic composition. However, verse has come to represent any grouping of lines in a poetic composition, with groupings traditionally having been referred to as stanzas. Verse in the uncountable ( mass noun) sense refers to poetry in contrast to prose. Where the common unit of verse is based on meter or rhyme, the common unit of prose is purely grammatical, such as a sentence or paragraph. Verse in the second sense is also used pejoratively in contrast to poetry to suggest work that is too pedestrian or too incompetent to be classed as poetry. Verse (rapper)
Natalia Noemi "Teddy" Sinclair (née Cappuccini; born 15 August 1986), is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She has recorded music under various aliases, most famously as Natalia Kills and Verbalicious. She is currently the lead vocalist of the band Cruel Youth, which also releases music under the name The Powder Room. As Natalia Kills, Sinclair released the studio albums '' Perfectionist'' (2011) and ''Trouble'' (2013). In 2014 she married fellow singer Willy Moon. Jared Verse (born November 4, 2000) is an American football defensive end for the Florida State Seminoles. He previously played for the Albany Great Danes, where he was named the 2020 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Defensive Rookie of the Year before transferring to Florida State in 2022. Early life and high school Verse was born on November 4, 2000, in Dayton, Ohio. He grew up in Berwick, Pennsylvania, later attending Central Columbia High School and played tight end and defensive end for their football team. College career Verse redshirted his freshman season at Albany. He made 22 tackles with 10 tackles for loss and four sacks over four games during his redshirt freshman season, which was shortened and played in early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ''Toy World'' is the second demo album by the English rock band Cardiacs (including ''The Obvious Identity'', released on cassette the previous year under the band name "Cardiac Arrest"). The cassette is a mixture of older songs by the earlier Cardiac Arrest lineup and newer songs by the then-current Cardiacs lineup. This was the last album to feature keyboard player/backing singer Colvin Mayers, and the first to feature saxophonist/backing singer/occasional keyboard player Sarah Cutts (who on all future releases would be referred to as Sarah Smith). As with ''The Obvious Identity'', recording was carried out at Crow Studios in Surbiton, Surrey, UK. The tracks were recorded under very low budget circumstances - one member later recalled "Every time the door bell went or the phone rang, it would put a massive crackle on the tapes," - and the final sound quality was quite flat. Benjamin Mount, also known as Verse, Ben the Verse, The Verse and Pendulum Man, is an English rapper, MC, record producer and record label owner best known as the former MC in Australian/British drum and bass group Pendulum. Biography Pendulum Since 2006 and up until 2012 Ben has been the MC for Pendulum's Live Tours, remained their MC at DJ set events until mid 2017. Patricia Barber
Patricia Barber (born November 8, 1955) is an American songwriter, composer, singer, and pianist. Biography Barber's father Floyd was a jazz saxophonist who played with Bud Freeman and Glenn Miller. She played saxophone and piano from a young age, sang in musicals in high school, and studied piano at the University of Iowa in the early 1970s. From there Barber went to Chicago and began performing regularly in bars and clubs. She won a Guggenheim Fellowship in music composition in March 2003, an unusual accomplishment for someone working in the field of popular songwriting. The Guggenheim allowed her to devote time to a song cycle based on Ovid’s ''Metamorphoses''. She is married to musicologist Martha Feldman. Pamyua
Pamyua ( ) (literally: "its tail" in Yup'ik from ''pamyuq'' "tail of animal or kayak; chorus of song; upper stern-piece of kayak") is a Yup'ik musical group from Anchorage in Alaska. Overview Brothers Stephen and Phillip Blanchett, of Inuit and African-American descent, formed Pamyua in 1995 with the goal of combining and preserving their cultural and religious backgrounds through music. Pamyua's music is self-described as "tribal funk", " world music" and "Inuit soul music", drawing inspiration from Russian Orthodox chants, traditional Inuit music, R&B and most notably South African male choral group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. An early influence was the African American gospel played in their father's church in Wasilla, Alaska.
