Veronika Chumikova
Veronika Gennadievna Chumikova (russian: Верони́ка Генна́дьевна Чу́микова, born 4 July 1994) is a Russian freestyle wrestler of Chuvash heritage. She is a silver medalist at the European Wrestling Championships. She also won a medal at the Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin held in Krasnoyarsk, Russia on six occasions (in 2014, 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024). Career Chumikova won the gold medal in the women's 58 kg event at the 2016 World University Wrestling Championships held in Çorum, Turkey. In 2018, she competed at the Klippan Lady Open in Klippan, Sweden without winning a medal. Later that year, Chumikova won the gold medal in the women's 59 kg event at the 2018 Russian National Women's Freestyle Wrestling Championships held in Smolensk, Russia. 2021 World Wrestling Championships
The 2021 World Wrestling Championships was the 17th edition of the World Wrestling Championships of combined events and was held from 2 to 10 October 2021 in Oslo, Norway. The event was subsequent to the 2019 World Championships due to the cancelation of the 2020 edition during the COVID-19 pandemic. Valeria Sergeyevna Koblova, née Zholobova (russian: Валерия Сергеевна Коблова; born 9 October 1992) is a Russian freestyle wrestler. She competed in the freestyle 55 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics; she advanced to the bronze medal match, where she was defeated by Yuliya Ratkevich. The 2021 World Wrestling Olympic Qualification Tournament was the last wrestling qualification tournament for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. The event was held from 6 to 9 May 2021, in Sofia, Bulgaria. Qualification summary A total of 36 athletes secured a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympics, in Tokyo, Japan. Prior to the 2019 decision by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Russia was expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which took place from 23 July to 8 August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It would have been the country's seventh consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics as an independent nation, but their athletes were entered by and representing the "Russian Olympic Committee", using the acronym "ROC" for a country name. The Chuvash people ( , ; cv, чӑваш ; russian: чуваши ) are a Turkic ethnic group, a branch of Oghurs, native to an area stretching from the Volga-Ural region to Siberia.
