Vernettie Oscar Greene Ivy (January 1, 1876 – July 15, 1967) was for six years a member of the Arizona House of Representatives. Early life Vernettie Oscar Greene was born on January 1, 1876, in Blackburn, Missouri. She attended History of Arizona State University, Tempe Normal School, Arizona. Career Vernettie O. Ivy was very active and prominent in fraternal circles. She was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives for six years: in 1923 she was one of Maricopa County, Arizona's representatives in the Arizona General Assembly. She was a delegate to the 1924 Democratic National Convention, Democratic National Convention in New York City in 1924. Together with C. Elizabeth Ivy McCreight Hutchison (May 26, 1901 – October 1986) was the president of the Teachers College Y. W. C. A. Early life Elizabeth Ivy was born in Phoenix, Arizona, on May 26, 1901, the daughter of Hon. James Pleasant Ivy (1864-1939) and Hon. Vernettie Oscar Greene (1876-1967). She graduated from Tempe Teachers' College. Career Elizabeth McCreight Hutchison was in the original faculty staff at the Tolleson Union High School, established in 1927. She was the president of the Teachers College Young Women's Christian Association. She was a member of the Zetetic Society, a modern flat Earth society. Personal life Elizabeth Ivy married Robert Littleton McCreight and they had one son, Robert Ivy McCreight, a graduate of University of Southern California. The United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) is an American neo-Confederate hereditary association for female descendants of Confederate Civil War soldiers engaging in the commemoration of these ancestors, the funding of monuments to them, and the promotion of the pseudohistorical Lost Cause ideology and corresponding white supremacy.
