Bob Heaton
Robert Heaton (born September 28, 1956) is an American politician and basketball player who is a Republican member of the Indiana House of Representatives since 2010. While at Indiana State University, Heaton was a prominent member of the college's varsity basketball team that famously reached the final of the 1979 NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament. Heaton averaged 9 points during the NCAA Tournament, including a buzzer-beating game-winner against Arkansas which propelled the Sycamores to the Final Four. Basketball career High school Heaton led the Clay City Eels to the finals of the 1974 Evansville Semi-state and the finals of the 1975 Terre Haute Regional. Mitchell, Indiana
Mitchell is a city in Marion Township, Lawrence County, Indiana, United States. The population was 4,350 at the 2010 census. History Mitchell was built as a railroad town in the mid-19th century. At this location in Lawrence County, the Chicago, Indianapolis and Louisville Railroad, better known by the shorter name of "the Monon", was built as a north-south line from New Albany to Chicago, passing through the area which became Mitchell in 1853. In 1857, the east-west Ohio and Mississippi Railway (later part of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad) was completed, as part of a link between Cincinnati and St. Louis. At the intersection of the two rail lines, a new town was planned. Indiana State University (ISU) is a public university in Terre Haute, Indiana. It was founded in 1865 and offers over 100 undergraduate majors and more than 75 graduate and professional programs. Riley, Indiana
Riley, once known as Lockport, is a town in Riley Township, Vigo County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 221 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Terre Haute Metropolitan Statistical Area. History The original town of Lockport was platted on November 23, 1836, by Nathaniel Donham. It was known as Lockport due to its importance during the building of the Wabash and Erie Canal from 1847–1850. The canal town became a significant trading point along the waterway. Though the canal closed in 1873, the building of several different railroads kept the community as a place for trade. The town originally had various mills, sawmills and tanneries, but all were burned at different times. It was also notable in the grain market. In 1911, the town took the name of its post office and became Riley. The Tincher was a brand of automobile produced from 1903–1908 in Chicago, Illinois,John L. Tincher III Danville's Tincher Automobile' Reprinted from ''Winter'' 1981-82, page 10 and from 1908 to 1909 in South Bend, Indiana. The car was named after its developer, Thomas Luther Tincher, but built by the Chicago Coach and Carriage Company using components and body sections fabricated by the German Krupp steelworks. The Tincher debuted at the 1903 Chicago Automobile Show, where its air-braking system was the technical wonder of the event. Not only could the air-system stop the car, but it could be used to inflate flat tires and power the car's horn. The Tincher was also one of the costliest cars in production at the time, with a race version beginning at $12,000.
