Verbs (rapper)
Michael Boyer II, better known by his stage names Knowdaverbs and later Verbs, is a Christian hip hop artist. He has recorded for Gotee Records. Background He started rapping at the age of twelve, and spent time dancing with GRITS during the mid-'90s. At first he did not gain much acceptance for singing hip-hop in nearby churches which laughed at him exclaiming "hip-hop's a pit of hell". His debut album, ''The Syllabus'' (1999), and his second album, ''The Action Figure'' (2000) were both fairly successful for gospel rap. His first album under the name "Verbs" ('' Unlocked'') was slightly delayed when he spent six months in South Africa on a mission with his home church in Nashville, Tennessee. His latest album The Groundwork Theory, was released ''September 11, 2007''. His lyrics take a middle ground approach between the explicit doctrine of the Cross Movement and the poetic musings of the GRITS. Dewayne Petty (born 1973), known professionally as Pettidee, is a record producer, actor and Christian rap artist from Tallahassee, Florida. Pettidee has been nominated for a Grammy and Stella Award for producing for groups such as group Grits and I-Rocc. Early life Dewayne Petty was born in Tallahassee, Florida. As a child, Pettidee grew up in a dysfunctional family and became a street hustler as well as a drug user by the age of nine. After being on the streets Pettidee accepted Jesus Christ into his life and began seeking after God's will. Pettidee is best known for producing beats for the group Grits. 7th Avenue (album)
''7th Avenue'' is the major-label debut album by rapper KJ-52, and his only release before signing to BEC Recordings. The album notably contains little to no pop influence, instead favoring underground and old school hip hop. The album was largely recorded in 1998, shopped to labels in 1999 and finally released in early 2000. The original version released in 2000 initially sold only 20,000 copies and was considered a "failure" by the label. KJ was dropped soon after. In 2004, 7th Avenue was re-released by Essential after seeing the success of KJ's second release, Collaborations. The 2004 edition quickly sold 50,000 additional units and became a cult classic amongst fans. The re-release contained bonus tracks including "Lift Me Up," "All Around the World", "Need Someone", "It's The S.O.I. (Remix)", and "12 Round Knockout." Jonah Kirsten Sorrentino (born June 26, 1975), better known by his stage name KJ-52, is a Christian rapper from Tampa, Florida. The "KJ" part of his name refers to his old rap alias, "King J. Mac," a name which he later described in one of his podcasts as "horribly cheesy." Mixtape Volume III
A mixtape (alternatively mix-tape, mix tape or mixed tape) is a compilation of music, typically from multiple sources, recorded onto a medium. With origins in the 1980s, the term normally describes a homemade compilation of music onto a cassette tape, CD, or digital playlist. The songs are either ordered sequentially or made into a continuous programme by beatmatching the songs and creating seamless transitions at their beginnings and endings with fades or abrupt edits.
