Venke Knutson (born 20 October 1978) is a Norwegian singer. Since 2003, she has had six top 10 hits in Norway. Life and career Venke Knutson was born in Birkeland, in 1978. She was the youngest of three sisters, in a musical family, and she got inspired to sing by her elder sisters. Early in her life she lived with her family in the United States. She joined the school choir. Inspired by two older sisters, she applied for music at the VÃ¥gsbygd skole ( VÃ¥gsbygd High School), when the family was about to go back home to Norway. She used to be an elementary teacher in Norway. She was earlier married to Svenn KÃ¥re Liodden, but they divorced. She married Thomas Wold in 2008. Kurt Erik Nilsen () (born 29 September 1978) is a Norwegian pop/country singer. He won the first season of the Norwegian reality show ''Idol'', which aired on TV 2 in May 2003. He then won a one-off international version of ''Pop Idol'' called ''World Idol'' on 1 January 2004, featuring winners of the various national ''Idol'' shows. Career ''Idol'' Upon leaving school, Nilsen made his living as a plumber. Nilsen became the lead singer in the Norwegian band ''Fenrik Lane''. Norway participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "My Heart Is Yours" written by Hanne Sørvaag and Fredrik Kempe. The song was performed by Didrik Solli-Tangen. In addition to participating in the contest, the Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK) also hosted the Eurovision Song Contest after winning the competition in 2009 with the song "Fairytale" performed by Alexander Rybak.
