Veneer (EP)
''Veneer'' is a four-track extended play by Irish noise pop band September Girls. The E.P. was recorded at Guerilla Studios in Dublin and released on November 24, 2014 via Fortuna Pop! (EU) and Kanine Records (US), 11 months after the release of their debut album ''Cursing the Sea''. Track list Recording and Release September Girls recorded ''Veneer'' following the release of September Girls first album ''Cursing the Sea'' at Guerilla Studios in Dublin. The first single to be taken from the record was the title-track which came out on October 13, accompanied by a music video directed by band member Jessie Ward. September Girls
September Girls were a five-piece noise pop band from Dublin, Ireland. The band formed in September 2011 and performed their first gig in Dublin in November 2011. Having released singles under various labels between 2012 and 2013, the band signed to Fortuna Pop! in 2013 and released their debut album in January 2014. In Autumn 2014, ahead of their appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon in New York, the band announced signing to Kanine Records, and an EP release through Kanine & Fortuna Pop! Noise Pop
Noise pop is a subgenre of alternative and indie rock that developed in the mid-1980s in the United Kingdom and United States. Fortuna Pop!
Fortuna POP! was an English independent record label based in London, started in 1995 by Sean Price. It specialised in indie pop music. Fortuna POP! previously promoted gigs under the banner of The Beat Hotel and then Basement Scam at the Buffalo Bar in Highbury, London and then promoted events under their own name. The label has been called an "indie institution". On 31 July 2016, initially via a full page statement in the programme of that summer's Indietracks festival, the label announced that it was to be shut down. Kanine Records is an independent record label based in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York started at the end of 2002 by Lio and Kay Kanine. Their first release, ''NY: The Next Wave'', was a 20 track compilation featuring mostly unsigned and emerging acts from the area. From there, they started to sign local bands and release CD EPs, 12-inch vinyl and eventually full-length records.
