The simple station Venecia is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, opened in the year 2000. Location The station is located in southern Bogotá, specifically on Autopista Sur with Carrera 54A. It serves the Venecia and Fatima neighborhoods. History This station was opened April 15, 2006 as part of the section between the stations General Santander and Portal del Sur of the NQS line. The station is named Venecia due to the neighborhood of the same name that lies to the south. Tunjuelito
Tunjuelito is the 6th locality of the Capital District of the Colombian capital, Bogotá. Tunjuelito is located in the south of Bogotá, bordering to the north with the localities of Bosa, Kennedy and Puente Aranda, to the east with the localities of Rafael Uribe Uribe and Usme, to the south with Usme and to the west with Ciudad Bolívar. This district is mostly inhabited by working and lower class residents. Etymology The locality is named Tunjuelito as a diminutive form of ''tunjo'', the votive figures of the indigenous Muisca. TransMilenio is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system that serves Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, and Soacha. The system opened to the public in December 2000, covering Avenida Caracas, Caracas Avenue and 80 street. Other lines were added gradually over the next several years, and as of 2022, 12 lines totalling run throughout the city. The intermediate station General Santander is part of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, opened in the year 2000. Location The station is located in southern Bogotá, specifically on Avenida NQS south of the Avenida Batallón Caldas bridge. History In October 2005, phase two of the TransMilenio opened from Calle 92 with Autopista Norte to General Santander. The station receives its name due to the proximity of the police school located a few blocks away. The station is the only one in the system located in three localities of Bogotá. The supports for the pedestrian bridge on the north side are located in Puente Aranda, while the supports for the southern bridge are located in Rafael Uribe Uribe. Portal del Sur is one of the terminus stations of the TransMilenio mass-transit system of Bogotá, Colombia, which opened in the year 2000. Location The Portal del Sur is located in the south of the city, more specifically on Autopista Sur where it meets the cemetery ''Jardines del Apogeo'' (carrera 72D). History The inauguration of the head station was made on April 15, 2006, although public space works and some mixed lanes continued until June of the same year. The portal has a cycling service for users. Beginning in September 2013, "TuLlave" travel cards work in the Portal del Sur, after months of discussions on how to start integrating the cards used in all phases of TransMilenio. Avenida Norte-Quito-Sur or NQS is an arterial road in Bogotá, Colombia that crosses the city from northeast to southwest. The avenue is formed from the union of three old avenues, Avenida Ciudad de Quito, Avenida Novena, and Autopista Sur. Etymology The complete name of the road, from its end on Calle 170 until the entrance to the municipality of Soacha is ''Avenida Norte-Quito-Sur''. Along the route of these three roads, it also is known by four other names: ''Avenida Carrera Novena'', ''Carrera 30'', ''Avenida Calle 57 Sur'', and ''Troncal NQS''.
