Velo, Greece
Velo ( el, Βέλο) is a town and a former municipality in Corinthia, Peloponnese (region), Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Velo-Vocha, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 76.952 km2. It is situated on the Gulf of Corinth coast, about 15 km west from Corinth, and 5 km southeast of Kiato. Greek National Road 8, the old Corinth-Patras highway, passes through the town. The community has an elementary school, a secondary school, a semi-professional soccer team named Ellas Velou and a square called 'Liberty square'. Nemea (town)
Nemea ( el, Νεμέα) is a town in Corinthia, Greece, and the seat of municipality with the same name (Δήμος Νεμέας). It is located a few kilometres west of ancient Nemea, with a population of under four thousand people. The municipality has an area of 204.708 km2. Geography Nemea (altitude ca. 300m) is situated in a relatively plain basin surrounded by mountains, that reach ca. 750m.. The ancient town, Αρχαία Νεμέα, (at ca. 360m) is in a somewhat smaller basin to the east. Both basins empty through their own valley into the Gulf of Corinth. The surface of the two basins varies by only a few meters. The soil contains weathered elements of Limestone. The composition of the soil, the basin's geology, the altitude and the climate are ideal for viticulture. Stathis Psaltis
Stathis Psaltis ( el, Στάθης Ψάλτης; 27 February 1951 – 21 April 2017) was a Greek cinema, TV and theatre comic actor. He was best known for starring in many 1980s films, as many as four a year. He has been called "iconic" and a "household name". Early life He was born in Velo, Corinthia where he lived during his childhood until the age of 11, when his family moved to Aigaleo. He studied at the acting school of Kostis Michailidis and finished the law school of the university of Athens. Career He starred in a lot of Greek films and also in theater. He became popular in the 1980s with commercial movies that included "Kamikazi agapi mou", "Troxonomos Varvara", "Ta kamakia", "Vasika Kalispera sas", "Kai o protos matakias", "Trellos eimai oti thelo kano", "Ela na agapithoume darling", and "Mantepse ti kano ta vradia". Corinthia
Corinthia ( el, Κορινθία ''Korinthía'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Peloponnese. It is situated around the city of Corinth, in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. Geography Corinthia borders on Achaea to the west and southwest, the Gulf of Corinth and Attica to the north, the Saronic Gulf to the east, Argolis to the south and Arcadia to the southwest. The Corinth Canal, carrying ship traffic between the Ionian and the Aegean seas, is about east of Corinth, cutting through the Isthmus of Corinth. Corinthia is increasingly seen as part of the wider metropolitan area of Athens, with municipalities, such as Agioi Theodoroi in the easternmost part of the regional unit, being considered suburbs of Athens.
