Iman Vellani (; born August 12, 2002) is a Pakistani-born Canadian actress. She is known for the Disney+ miniseries ''Ms. Marvel'' (2022) as the protagonist Kamala Khan, a role she will reprise in the film ''The Marvels'' (2023). Early life Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Vellani moved to Canada when she was a year old, and was raised in the Ismaili faith, a branch of Shia Islam. She graduated from Unionville High School in Markham, Ontario. Vellani was selected as a member of the TIFF Next Wave Committee at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. Mario Vellani Marchi (1895–1979) was an Italian painter and scenic designer. Biography Vellani Marchi was born in Modena. He attended the Modena Academy of Fine Arts in the early years of the second decade of the 20th century and specialised in engraving. He made his debut at the Venice Biennale with the 14th Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte of the city of Venice in 1924. He came into contact with the second generation of the Burano School through a stay on the island in the same year, and landscapes set there constitute a constant feature of his production. After 1920, he spent some time in Burano painting landscapes, along with Giuseppe Novello, Francesco Arata, and Bernardino Palazzi. Francesco Vellani (1688–1768) was an Italian painter, active in Modena in a late Baroque style. He mainly painted sacred subjects. He painted an altarpiece depicting the ''Assumption of the Virgin'' for the Cathedral of Modena; an ''Immaculate Conception'' for the main altar of the Chiesa Nuova; for the church of the Monache della Visitazione; a '' St Pius V and St Thomas Acquinas'' for the church of San Domenico; an altarpiece depicting ''St John of the Cross'' for the Church of the Monache Scalze in Modena.
