Veljko Uskoković
Veljko Uskoković ( cnr, Вељко Ускоковић; born 29 March 1971 in Cetinje, Montenegro) is a retired Montenegrin water polo player. His club achievements are: European Champion 2000 (Becej team), 4 times Yugoslav Champion (Budvanska rivijera and Becej) 4 times Yugoslav Cup Winner (Budvanska rivijera and Becej). Member of Yugoslav national water polo team from 1991 to 2002. Team captain from 1996 to 2001. Uskoković played more than 300 games, and scored over 400 goals. Water Polo
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players each. The game consists of four quarters in which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match. Each team is made up of six field players and one goalkeeper. Excluding the goalkeeper, players participate in both offensive and defensive roles. It is typically played in an all-deep pool where players cannot touch the bottom. A game consists mainly of the players swimming to move about the pool, treading water (mainly using the eggbeater kick), passing the ball, and shooting at the goal. VK Bečej (full name: Vaterpolo klub Bečej; lit. Water polo club Bečej), was a water polo club from Bečej, Serbia. Founded in 1947, the club disbanded in 2002 due to the bad financial situation. History The club was established in 1947. Its golden years came in the mid-1990s, when the club won the National Championships and National Cups of FR Yugoslavia for six consecutive seasons, from 1995–96 to 2000–01 season. VK Bečej also made LEN Champions League Final Four appearances in 1997 and 1998. The biggest success in club's history was winning the 1999–2000 LEN Champions League trophy, becoming only the second Serbian team after VK Partizan to win the top-tier European water polo club competition. LEN Euroleague (Water Polo) 1999–00
The LEN Champions League is the top-tier European professional water polo club competition with teams from up to 18 countries. It is organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. The competition started in 1963 as European Cup. A change of name and format occurred in 1996, with the competition being renamed Champions League and the final four system being established as the format of choice, for the first time during the 1996–97 LEN Champions League. From 2003 to 2011 the competition was named LEN Euroleague (with the change of name being simply a re-branding) and from 2011 and on LEN Champions League, its current name.
