Hans-Joachim Veen
Hans-Joachim Veen (born 29 August 1944) is a German political scientist. He is the former Director of Research at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, head of the scientific advisory committee to the Stasi Records Agency, and an honorary professor at the University of Trier. Early life, military service, and education Veen was born in Strasbourg and took his Abitur in Bremen. He then served for two years with Reconnaissance Battalion 3 at Lüneburg. He has the rank of a full colonel (res.) and served as commander of Tank Battalion 524 in Lingen. His last reserve training was served as chief of staff of German Armed Forces Command USA and Canada in Reston, Virginia. Following his military service, he studied political science, public law and history at the University of Hamburg and the University of Freiburg, earning a D.Phil. in 1976. Hendrik Veen (6 October 1823, Haarlem – 14 March 1905, Haarlem) was a prolific photographer in the Dutch East Indies. He photographed ethnographic shots of locals, landscapes, architecture, landscapes and botanical subjects. Tom Veen
Tom Robert Adrie Veen (14 January 1942 – 13 August 2014) was a Dutch politician. He was a member of the States of Gelderland between 1974 and 1981 and of the Senate of the Netherlands between 1979 and 1983 for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. Career Veen was born in Ambarawa, Dutch East Indies, shortly before the Japanese occupation. Veen went to the Netherlands and studied economy at the University of Amsterdam until 1960. He followed this with advanced studies of urban planning and economy at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Groningen. After his education, Veen was a teacher of evening classes and subsequently a lecturer of urban planning. Veen later owned an urban planning company. Zachary Richard Veen (born December 12, 2001) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Colorado Rockies organization. Veen was selected ninth overall by the Rockies in the 2020 Major League Baseball draft. Amateur career Veen attended Spruce Creek High School in Port Orange, Florida. As a junior in 2019, he was named ''The Daytona Beach News-Journal'' Baseball Player of the Year after hitting .414 with 36 stolen bases. Veen, Netherlands
Veen is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Altena, about 20 km northwest of 's-Hertogenbosch. It is infamous for its New Year's Eve tradition during which scrap cars are burnt, and in 2020 even firemen were attacked with fireworks. Veen Observatory
The James C. Veen Observatory is an astronomical observatory owned and operated by the Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association. Built during the 1960s and opened in 1970, it is located 3.6 miles west-southwest of Lowell, Michigan, United States. Its two domes house the main instruments (a Meade 16-inch LX-200 and a Celestron C-14) and a roll-off structure houses a 17-inch Dobsonian. The Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association takes pride in its James C. Veen Observatory near Lowell, Michigan, a multifaceted educational and research facility named after the co-founder and first president of the GRAAA.
