Vedera
Vedera (formerly Veda) was an American rock band from Kansas City, Missouri. The band was founded as Veda in 2003 by members Kristen May, Brian Little, Jason Douglas and Drew Little. They released ''The Weight of an Empty Room'', their first full length LP in 2005. That year, they changed their name to Vedera after a similarly named band pursued litigation against them. After signing to Epic Records in 2007, Vedera toured with The All-American Rejects and The Fray. ''Stages'', their first studio album, was released in 2009 and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Vedera disbanded in 2011. Kristen May is an American singer, best known as the former lead singer of the rock bands Vedera and Flyleaf. After Vedera disbanded in 2011, May replaced Lacey Sturm as the lead singer of Flyleaf. May released her solo album ''Conversations'' in 2015, before leaving Flyleaf in 2016. Background May was raised in Blue Springs, Missouri. May was the lead singer of Vedera. Mutemath (sometimes styled as MuteMath or MUTEMATH) is an American alternative rock project founded by American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Paul Meany. Originally co-founded as a band with Darren King in 2002, Meany decided to continue Mutemath as a solo project following King's departure in 2017. Mutemath draws heavily from influences in 1960s and 1970s soul, psychedelic rock, and jam band styles, utilizing vintage guitars and amplifiers as well as Rhodes keyboards, synthesizers, and other electronic instruments such as the keytar. Vaeda
Vaeda was an American three-piece alternative rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2003. In September–October 2005 Vaeda was the Number 1 unsigned artist on the Myspace music charts and has since been featured in films, television and national tours including the Vans Warped Tour and Rockstar Taste of Chaos. The band was based in Long Island, New York. The name originates from an alternate spelling of the word Veda which are the original sacred texts for the Hindu religion. The word itself means "knowledge" in Sanskrit. Additionally, there is a backronym derived from the name: Very Awesome Extra Double Awesome. Ed Rose is an American sound engineer and record producer. He has worked extensively with groups in the modern emo and pop punk scenes. He also co-owns Black Lodge Recording with Rob Pope and his brother Ryan Pope, members of the emo band The Get Up Kids. History Rose held an interest in sound recording in his high school years, which was nurtured by his family. One year he got a Fostex X-15 recorder for Christmas. The next year he moved up to a Fostex 250, which he still uses. His interest in sound recording continued to grow, and he decided to attend the Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts. Dredg (stylized as dredg) is an American rock band formed in 1993 in Los Gatos, California. Thrice is an American rock band from Irvine, California, formed in 1998. The group was founded by guitarist/vocalist Dustin Kensrue and lead guitarist Teppei Teranishi while they were in high school. Early in their career, the band was known for melodic hardcore punk music based in heavily distorted guitars, prominent lead guitar lines, and frequent changes in complex time signatures. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock".
