Anders Sørensen Vedel (9 November 1542 – 13 February 1616) At 14 years old, he moved to study in Ribe, and after finishing his education he moved on to Copenhagen University in 1561. In 1562, he was the tutor of astronomer Tycho Brahe on Brahe's Grand Tour in Europe, forming a lasting bond of friendship with him. Artemy Lukyanovich Vedel (russian: Артемий Лукьянович Ведель, uk, Артем Лук'янович Ведель, translit=Artem Lukianovych Vedel; ), born Artemy Lukyanovich Vedelsky, was a Ukrainian-born Russian composer of military and liturgical music. He produced works based on Ukrainian folk melodies, and made an important contribution to the music of Ukraine. Together with Maxim Berezovsky and Dmitry Bortniansky, Vedel is recognised by musicologists as one of the "Golden Three" composers of 18th century Ukrainian classical music, and one of Russia's greatest choral composers. Vedel was born in Kyiv, the son of a wealthy wood carver. He studied at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy until 1787, after which he was appointed to conduct the academy's choir and orchestra. Dominique Honoré Antoine Vedel
Dominique Honoré Antoine Vedel (2 July 1771 – 30 March 1848) was a French general who participated in the French Revolution, the War of the Fourth Coalition and the Peninsular War. Serving in both cases under Marshal Jean Lannes, Vedel fought at the Battle of Saalfeld (1806) and was wounded at the Battle of Pułtusk (1806) in Poland. Peninsular War During the first few weeks of June 1808, Napoleon's troops had great difficulty in maintaining fluid communications between Madrid and Andalusia, mainly due to the activity of guerrilleros in the Sierra Morena. On 19 June, Vedel was ordered to head south from Toledo with a division of 6,000 men, 700 horse, and 12 guns to force a passage over the mountain range, hold the mountains from the guerrillas, and link up with General Dupont, pacifying Castile-La Mancha along the way. Georges Vedel
Georges Vedel (5 July 1910 – 21 February 2002) was a French public law professor from Auch, France. Biography Vedel is credited as being "the reviser of public law n France" He was a faculty member of universities in Poitiers, Toulouse, and Paris, at both Panthéon-Assas University. He was a published author, having written manuals on constitutional and regulatory law, publications which both left their mark on generations of French legal experts. Vedel was most well known for his theory of the constitutional bases present in regulatory law, a theory that united the field of public law in France. Georges Vedel was a member of the Constitutional Council of France from 1980 to 1989. He was nominated to this position by Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, the president of France at the time.
