Vedaa
''Vedaa'' is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Zee Studios, Emmay Entertainment and JA Entertainment. The film stars John Abraham, Sharvari (in the titular role), Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi. The film is inspired by true events. Vedaa was theatrically released on 15 August 2024. The film received mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office, grossing over ₹26 crores worldwide. Plot Major Abhimanyu Kanwar is court-martialed by the Army for disobeying orders to bring a terrorist in Kashmir alive. ''Vedaa'' centers on a Dalit girl who is being abused and tortured by the upper caste. She wants to learn boxing to protect herself and her family. Nikhil Suresh Advani (born 28 April 1971) is an Indian film and television director, writer and producer who works in Hindi cinema. He along with his sister, Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, co-founded the entertainment company Emmay Entertainment. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is a statutory film-certification body in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. It is tasked with "regulating the public exhibition of films under the provisions of the Cinematograph Act 1952."
