LeBow founded Vector Group in 1986. Since then, he has served as Chairman. Howard Lorber has served as the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer since 1994. Vector Group was previously called Brooke Group. Liggett Group ( ), formerly known as Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, is the fourth largest tobacco company in the United States. Its headquarters are located in Durham, North Carolina, though its manufacturing facility is 30 miles to the west in Mebane, North Carolina.
