Veaceslav Iordan
Veaceslav Iordan (born 12 June 1966 in Chircăieşti, Causeni) is a Moldovan politician who served as interim Mayor of Chișinău from January–June 2007. Biography Veaceslav Iordan was born on June 12, 1966 in the village of Chircăieşti, Căușeni District. After graduating from secondary school in his native town in 1983, became a student at the Faculty of Engineering of the Academy of Construction in Kharkov (Ukraine). After a year of study he did his mandatory military service in the Soviet Army, during the years 1984-1986. In 1986 he returned to the Academy where he continued his studies, obtaining a diploma in engineering. He began work as an engineer at the engineering department of Hotel Inturist from 1993-1998. In 1998 he was employed as head of maintenance services for Railways of Moldova. In 2000 he was appointed as deputy director general for social and capital construction in the same company. The Order of the Republic ( ro, Ordinul Republicii) is Moldova's highest order. It is awarded by the President of Moldova for exceptional merits in all fields which benefit Moldova and humanity as a whole. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. Chișinău ( , , ), also known as Kishinev (russian: Кишинёв, r=Kishinjóv ), is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Moldova. The city is Moldova's main industrial and commercial center, and is located in the middle of the country, on the river Bâc, a tributary of the Dniester. Vasile Ursu (born 1 August 1948) is an engineer and is a Moldovan politician, the MP at the first Parliament of the Republic of Moldova in 1990-1994, acting interim general mayor of Chișinău in 2005-2007 and minister of transport and road management for 2007-2008.
