''Vaudhu'' is a 1993 Maldivian drama film written and directed by Yoosuf Rafeeu. Produced by Ibrahim Dawood under Bukhari Films, the film stars Yoosuf Rafeeu and Mariyam Shakeela in lead roles. Premise Afzal (Yoosuf Rafeeu), a young man from a wealthy family returns to the Maldives for a study-break and meets Fazla ( Mariyam Shakeela), daughter of Shareefa (Sithi Fulhu), the woman who worked as a servant in his house during his childhood. Afzal invites Fazla for a celebration party being hosted for him to which Fazla did not appear noting the difference in their societal standards. Afzal starts an affair with Fazla while his mother disapproves the relationship and arranges his marriage with another girl from a reputed family, Sheryna. Easa Shareef
Easa Shareef is a Maldivian film director, actor, screen-writer, editor and lyricist. Career In 1993, Shareef collaborated with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his tragedy drama film '' Vaudhu'' (1993) which narrates the separation of a happy couple due to the societal differences. The following year, he directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film '' Zakham'' (1994) where he played the supportive brother of a young girl who has been forced to marry out of her will. In 1996, he directed the film '' Edhuvas Hingajje'' which follows the love triangle of a devoted wife, a reckless husband and his short tempered mistress. This was followed by Yoosuf Rafeeu's award winning film ''Haqqu'' which revolves around a man who is forced to marry a woman against his will, and stars Mariyam Nisha, Reeko Moosa Manik and Mariyam Shakeela in lead roles. Mariyam Shakeela (actress)
Mariyam Shakeela is a Maldivian film actress. Career 1992–2007: Early releases After completing her education in MCS and EPS, Shakeela married to comedian Yoosuf Rafeeu who was then a producer and news presenter at Television Maldives. A week after their marriage, Rafeeu requested her to feature in a film for a replacement of an actor who opted out of the film due to personal reasons. At the age of fifteen, she made her screen debut with the film ''Dhon Sanpa'', whose performance was well noted by critics and audiences. Arifa Ibrahim (born 22 June 1955) is a Maldivian actress, producer, director and writer. Early life Daughter of late Ibrahim Fulhu and late Fathma Fulhu, Arifa Ibrahim was born on 22 June 1955. Koyya Hassan Manik
Hassan Ali Manik professionally known as Koyya Hassan Manik (25 April 1953 – 20 February 2021) was a Maldivian film actor and producer. Career 1989–2008: Early releases and first lead role with ''Ajaaib'' In 1989, Najuma offered him to feature in ''Hama Mihaaru'', one of the programs aired in the Dhivehi Rajjeyge Adu, where he took part in a total of eighteen episodes in a span of three years. Sithi Fulhu was a Maldivian actress mostly known for her comical roles in the films. Career In 1992, Sithi Fulhu collaborated with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his drama film, '' Loabi Veveynee Furaana Dheegen'' followed by another collaboration with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his tragedy drama film '' Vaudhu'' (1993) which narrates the separation of a happy couple due to the societal differences.
