Vassilis Kikilias
Vasilis Kikilias ( el, Βασίλης Κικίλιας; born 15 May 1974 in Athens) is a Greece, Greek politician who currently serves as Ministry of Tourism (Greece), Minister for Tourism in the Cabinet of Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He is a member of the Hellenic Parliament for New Democracy (Greece), New Democracy in the Athens A constituency. He is also a retired professional basketball player who played for Panionios B.C., Ionikos Nikaias B.C., AEK B.C., Apollon Patras B.C. and the Greece men's national basketball team. Basketball career Kikilias started his basketball career with Panionios BC, Panionios BC and Ionikos Nikaias BC, Ionikos Nikaias, and he then moved to AEK Athens BC, AEK Athens. Greek Basket League
The Greek Basket League (GBL), often also referred to as the Greek A1 Basketball League, or Greek Basketball Championship (originally called Panhellenic Basketball Championship), and also known as the Stoiximan Basket League for sponsorship reasons, is the first tier level professional basketball league in Greece. It is run by HEBA ( el, ΕΣΑΚΕ, link=no), under the legal authority of the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the highest-tier level of the Greek league system. The GBL plays under FIBA rules and currently consists of 13 teams, with the lowest-placed team relegated to the A2 Basket League and replaced by the winner of the play-offs of that tier. The Greek Basketball Cup or Hellenic Basketball Cup (Greek language, Greek: Κύπελλο Ελλάδος καλαθοσφαίρισης ανδρών) is the top-tier level annual pro basketball national cup competition in Greece. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings.
