Alexander Frederick Douglas-Home, Baron Home of the Hirsel (; 2 July 1903 – 9 October 1995), styled as Lord Dunglass between 1918 and 1951 and being The 14th Earl of Home from 1951 till 1963, was a British Conservative politician who served as Prime Minister from October 1963 to October 1964. Ghizela Vass (also Gisela or Gisella Vass; April 22, 1912 – 2004), a Romanian Communism, communist, was an activist and politician of the Romanian Communist Party (PCR). In its 2007 report, the Presidential Commission for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in Romania identified her as one of the two main agents of the Communist Romania, Communist regime involved in policies pertaining to foreign policy, external affairs. Born in Iași, Vass went through seven years of elementary school, later attending the Ștefan Gheorghiu Academy. Joan Vass
Joan Vass (1925-2011) was an American knitwear designer and founder of the company bearing her name. Early life and career Joan Isabel Kaplan was born in New York City on 19 May 1925. She studied philosophy and history of art at Vassar and the University of Wisconsin, writing her thesis on Søren Kierkegaard. While at Wisconsin, she met and married her husband, the Abstract Expressionist painter and sculptor Gene Vass (1922-1996). The couple moved to Buffalo after World War II, where Gene had his studies supported by the G.I. Bill and the pregnant Joan sat as an artist's model for students. In 1959, the Vasses lived in Rome, Italy, as Gene had been awarded the Prix de Rome, before returning to New York in 1960 and becoming part of the first group of creatives and intellectuals to originate the loft apartment community in SoHo, Manhattan. Márta Vass (Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈma:rtə ˈvɑːʃ], born July 6, 1962, in Marcali and raised in Nemesdéd, Hungary) is a Hungary, Hungarian ultramarathon runner, former IAU100km European champion and multiple IAU 100 km World Championship medallist. Vass, North Carolina
Vass is a town in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 720 at the 2010 census. Vass grew up along the railroad in the late 19th century. It was originally named Bynum and later Winder before being established as Vass in 1892. The town was incorporated in 1907. History Vass originated as a stop on the Seaboard Railway as a station called Bynum. It was primarily a place with a siding to load lumber, turpentine and resin from the local area. In 1877, the town's name was changed from Bynum to Winder, in honor of Major John C. Winder general manager of the Seaboard Railroad. In 1892 its name was again changed to Vass, honoring Major William Worrell Vass, who was at that time paymaster for the Seaboard Railroad.
