Vasos Vacíos
''Vasos Vacíos'' (Spanish for "Empty Glasses") is the 8th album by Argentine rock, ska, and reggae band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs. This album, released in 1993, was a compilation album which included tracks from the band's previous seven albums (1986–1992). This album also contained new arrangements of previous songs, and new songs such as " El Matador". This album earned a Gold Album from Argentine Chamber of Phonograms and Videograms Producers ( es, link=no, Cámara Argentina de Productores de Fonogramas y Videogramas, CAPIF). The Gold Album honor is given when an album sells more than 30,000 units. The band later appeared on the first Latin MTV ''Unplugged''. Reception The Allmusic review by Victor W. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is an Argentine ska band from Buenos Aires. Background and style Formed in 1985, they released their first album, ''Bares y Fondas'' (Bars and Boardinghouses), in 1986 and have since released fourteen more albums. They are one of the most influential and most-referenced ska bands of the Latin ska world. The band's sound is a mix of ska, salsa, mambo, reggae, funk and samba. Yo Te Avise
''Yo Te Avisé!'' (Spanish for "I told you so") is the second studio album from the Argentine Ska band Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and was released in 1987. Having built on their experience from the first album, the band also benefited from the assistance of Andres Calamaro in production. On this album, Daniel Lozano joined the band as a guest player on the trumpet, eventually becoming a full-time member. The album was a step forward for the band; it sold more than 250 000 copies, earning the band a platinum certification, catapulting them to a moderate fame that allowed them to expand their tour schedule to countries outside of Argentina. The trombone (german: Posaune, Italian, French: ''trombone'') is a musical instrument in the Brass instrument, brass family. Flugelhorn
The flugelhorn (), also spelled fluegelhorn, flugel horn, or flügelhorn, is a brass instrument that resembles the trumpet and cornet but has a wider, more conical bore. Like trumpets and cornets, most flugelhorns are pitched in B, though some are in C. It is a type of valved bugle, developed in Germany in the early 19th century from a traditional English valveless bugle. The alto saxophone is a member of the saxophone family of woodwind instruments. Saxophones were invented by Belgian instrument designer Adolphe Sax in the 1840s and patented in 1846. Bares Y Fondas
Released in 1986, Bares y Fondas (Spanish for Bars and Taverns) is the first studio album recorded by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs of Argentina. The album's main genre is Ska. The music, just like the wardrobe in the early band's concerts, was influenced by bands like Madness and The Specials. These aspects were unusual for Argentine rock bands of that period, and gave the Cadillacs (the popular shortened version of the band's name) a distinctive artistic appeal. The album was originally going to be called "Noches Cálidas en Bares y Fondas" (Warm Nights in Bars and Taverns), based on the places where the band hung out and played, but in the end it was decided to use the shorter name, with the same meaning. Danny Ray (born 3 September 1951) is a Jamaican-born reggae singer and record producer who has been based in the United Kingdom since the late 1960s.
