Vasileos Christidis
Vassilis Christidis (alternate spellings: Vasilis, Vasileos) ( el, Βασίλης Χρηστίδης; born July 10, 1998) is a Greek professional basketball player for Karditsa of the Greek Basket League. He is a 2.08 m (6'10") tall center. Professional career Christidis started playing basketball with the youth teams of Mantoulidis. He then played in the Greek minors with Mantoulidis. He signed a contract with Aris in 2015, but he was loaned back to Mantoulidis for the 2015–16 season. Christidis began his pro career in 2016, with the top-tier level Greek League club Aris, when he debuted in a Greek League game against Promitheas Patras. He joined Olympiacos' new reserve team of the Greek 2nd Division, Olympiacos B, for the 2019–20 season. On December 21, 2021, Christidis was loaned from Olympiacos to Peristeri, under coach Milan Tomić. Center (basketball)
The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. The center is normally the tallest player on the team, and often has a great deal of strength and body mass as well. In the NBA, the center is typically close to tall. They traditionally play close to the basket in the low post. Centers are valued for their ability to protect their own goal from high-percentage close attempts on defense, while scoring and rebounding with high efficiency on offense. In sports, a loan involves a particular player being able to temporarily play for a club other than the one to which they are currently contracted. Loan deals may last from a few weeks to a full season, sometimes persisting for multiple seasons at a time. Greece Men's National Basketball Team
The Greece men's national basketball team ( el, Eθνική Oμάδα Καλαθοσφαίρισης Ελλάδος) represents Greece in international basketball. They are controlled by the Hellenic Basketball Federation, the governing body for basketball in Greece. Greece is currently ranked ninth in the FIBA World Rankings. Greece appeared eight times at the FIBA World Cup, their best performance coming in 2006 as runners-up, after beating the United States 101–95 in the tournament's semi-final. Greece took part the in the EuroBasket 28 times, winning the tournament twice; while also coming away with one silver (1989) as well as two bronze medals ( 1949, 2009). Milan Tomić ( sr, Милaн Томић, Greek: Μίλαν Τόμιτς (Milan Tomits); born July 24, 1973) is a Serbian-Greek professional basketball coach and former player. The 2019–20 Greek A2 Basket League was the 34th season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece.
