Vasil Ruci
Vasil Ruci (born 17 February 1958 in Vlorë) is an Albanian retired football player and coach who spent his entire career with Flamurtari Vlorë between 1976 and 1993. He is most noted for being an important figure in the club's famous 1986–87 UEFA Cup and 1987–88 UEFA Cup runs. Vlorë
Vlorë ( , ; sq-definite, Vlora) is the third most populous city of the Republic of Albania and seat of Vlorë County and Vlorë Municipality. Located in southwestern Albania, Vlorë sprawls on the Bay of Vlorë and is surrounded by the foothills of the Ceraunian Mountains along the Albanian Adriatic and Ionian Sea Coasts. Petro Ruçi
Petro Ruci (3 March 1957 – 2 July 2009) was an Albanian football defender. Club career Ruci had a spell at Dinamo Tirana and was part of Flamurtari's golden team of the mid-1980s who played Spanish giants FC Barcelona in two successive UEFA Cup seasons. International career He made his debut for Albania in a September 1982 European Championship qualification match against Austria and earned a total of 8 caps, scoring no goals. His final international was a November 1983 European Championship qualification match against West Germany. Death Ruci died of a long illness in July 2009 in Athens, Greece, where he was scouting youth players. Flamurtari FC is a professional football club based in Vlorë, Albania. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country. Founded in 1923, the club is one of the oldest in Albania, and it is also one of the most successful clubs, having won one Albanian Superliga title in 1991 four Albanian Cups and two Albanian Supercups. 1987–88 Albanian Cup () was the thirty-sixth season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began in August 1987 with the First Round and ended in May 1988 with the Final match. The winners of the competition qualified for the 1988-89 first round of the UEFA Cup. Vllaznia were the defending champions, having won their fifth Albanian Cup last season. Albanian Cup
The Albanian Cup ( sq, Kupa e Shqipërisë) is the main "knockout" competition in Albanian football. The competition started in 1939 as Kupa e Mbretit (English:"The King's Cup"). Just after a year the cup was suspended as the Second World War started. It started again in 1948 as "Kupa e Republikes" (English: "Republic Cup") and from 1991 as "Kupa e Shqipërisë" (Albanian Cup). Today it is the second most important competition in Albania after the Kategoria Superiore.
