Alberto Varo Lara (born 18 March 1993) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Gimnàstic de Tarragona. Football career Born in Tarragona, Catalonia, Varo joined Gimnàstic de Tarragona's youth setup in 2004, aged 11. He made his debuts as a senior with the farm team in the 2012–13 campaign, in Tercera División. On 27 February 2014, after both Manolo Reina and Tomeu Nadal were unavailable, Varo was called up to the main squad for a Segunda División B match against Valencia CF Mestalla. Three days later he made his debut, starting in the 2–2 away draw. On 8 July 2015, after being a key defensive unit for the B-side in its promotion to the third level, Varo signed a new three-year deal with ''Nàstic''. Francisco Varo
Francisco Varo (October 4, 1627 - January 31, 1687) was a Dominican friar, missionary in China, and author of the second grammar of Mandarin Chinese in a western language, "Arte de la lengua mandarina" (1703). His Chinese names were Wan Fangjige ( Vuán Fāng Çhí kǒ) and Wan Jiguo (). Life Varo was born in the city of Seville. On October 8, 1643 Varo joined the Dominican order in the convent of San Pablo. Varo then embarked on his journey to China when Juan Bautista de Morales recruited volunteers to cary out missions in the East, Varo was among them. He began a journey to China via Mexico and the Philippines. On June 12, 1646, Varo sailed to Veracuz in Mexico from Sanlucar de Barrameda. The trip to Manila in the Philippines was delayed by the presence of Dutch ships, but they started out from April 12, 1648, arriving in early July. It was planned form the beginning that Varo go to China, but he still spent a year among the Chinese community in Manila to learn the language. ...

Márton Váró
Márton Váró (born March 15, 1943) is a Hungarian sculptor, recognized for his monumental public art. Biography Márton Váró was born in Székelyudvarhely, Hungary (now Odorheiu Secuiesc, Romania) and attended Ion Andreescu Institute of Arts in Cluj, Romania (1960 to 1966), studying sculpture. In 1970, he relocated to Debrecen, Hungary, where he soon completed several sculptures for public places. He was awarded the Munkácsy Prize in 1984. The recipient of a Fulbright scholarship in 1988, Váró moved to Orange County, California, where he immediately became affiliated with the University of California, Irvine. His initial years in the US were focused on studying the relationship between architecture and sculpture. In 1990, he became the Artist in Residence in the City of Brea, California, for a public art project. María de los Remedios Alicia Rodriga Varo y Uranga (16 December 1908 – 8 October 1963) was a Spanish-born Mexican surrealist artist working in Spain, France, and Mexico. Early life Remedios Varo Uranga was born in Anglès, is a small town in the province of Girona (Catalonia), in northeastern Spain, in 1908. Her mother named Varo in honor of the Virgen de los Remedios (the "Virgin of Remedies") after a recently deceased older sister. Varo's father, Rodrigo Varo y Zajalvo (Cejalvo), was a hydraulic engineer. Because of his work, the family moved to different locations across Spain and North Africa. Varo's father recognized her artistic talents early on and would have her copy the technical drawings of his work with their straight lines, radii, and perspectives, which she reproduced faithfully.
