is the second studio album by Japanese entertainer Akina Nakamori. It was released on October 27, 1982 by Warner Pioneer under the Reprise Records label. The album includes the controversial single hit "Shōjo A". It became Nakamori's first number-one on the Oricon Weekly Albums Chart and her best sold album. Background ''Variation (Hensoukyoku)'' is Nakamori's second studio album, released in 1982, three months after the release of her debut album. The music production team consisted of main arrangers Mitsuo Hagita and Kei Wakakusa, Kisugi siblings Etsuko and Takao, Masao Urino, Hiroaki Serizawa, Yukinojo Mori and Yoshitaka Minami. Although the album consists of twelve tracks, "Introduction" and "Ending" are instrumental songs written and arranged by Kei Wakakusa. Akina Nakamori
is a Japanese Singing, singer and Actor, actress. She is one of the most popular and best-selling artists in Japan. Akina achieved national recognition after winning the 1981 season of the talent show ''Star Tanjō!''. Her debut single "Slow Motion (Akina Nakamori song), Slow Motion" was released to moderate success, peaking at number thirty on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Kayōkyoku
is a Japanese pop music genre, which became a base of modern J-pop. ''The Japan Times'' described ''kayōkyoku'' as "standard Japanese pop" or " Shōwa-era pop". ''Kayōkyoku'' represents a blend of Western and Japanese musical scales. Music in this genre is extremely varied as a result. ''Kayōkyoku'' in the narrower and more practical sense, however, excludes J-pop and ''enka''. Unlike "J-pop" singers such as Southern All Stars' Keisuke Kuwata, the singers of the ''kayōkyoku'' genre do not use stylized pronunciations based on the English language, but prefer traditional Japanese. There are exceptions, such as in singer Momoe Yamaguchi's song "Rock 'n' Roll Widow". Unlike ''enka'', ''kayōkyoku'' is also not based on emotional displays of effort while singing. The early production of the album began in February and was finished within 5 days. Shōjo A
is the second single by Japanese entertainer Akina Nakamori. Written by Masao Urino and Hiroaki Serizawa, the single was released on July 28, 1982 by Warner Pioneer through the Reprise label. It was also the first single from her second studio album '' Variation (Hensoukyoku)''. Background "Shōjo A" was the first hit single penned by Urino, who made his debut in 1981 with Chanels' . The idea of the song came from producer Yūzō Shimada, who read Tōkō Kon's book and wanted Nakamori to record a song with the concept of "anti-society". The title refers to an anonymous girl and has nothing to do with "A" being Akina. The lyrics were based on those from an abandoned song titled , which was to have been recorded by Kenji Sawada. Urino drew some inspiration from Momoe Yamaguchi's 1978 single "Playback Part 2". is a Japanese lyricist, script writer, and film director. He has written lyrics for many musical groups and individual artists, sometimes under the pseudonym . After graduating from Tochigi Prefectural Ashikaga High School, he graduated in 1974 with a degree in literature from Sophia University. After graduating, he worked as a copy writer for the advertising firm , which went bankrupt in 1999. Due to missing an error in an advertisement in a national newspaper, though, he was forced to do other work. While working at Tōkyū Agency International (now Frontage), he made his lyricist debut with the 1981 Chanels song ''Hoshi Kuzu no Dance Hall''. , better known by his stage name , is a Japanese lyricist, composer and poet who is affiliated with Amuse, Inc. He has written over 2,000 songs for numerous artists such as Kyosuke Himuro, Takuro Yoshida and Junichi Inagaki and theme songs for anime series including '' Dragon Ball Z''. His younger brother is Hideharu Mori, keyboardist of the rock band Picasso.
