Varhaugvika is a village in Aukra Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located on the eastern side of the island of Gossa along the Julsundet strait, just north of the village of Aukrasanden. The municipal centre of Aukra is at Falkhytta, just south of Varhaugvika. It is located about southwest of the Nyhamna gas processing facility. The village of Røssøyvågen lies about northwest of Varhaugvika. Since 2002, Varhaugvika has been considered a part of the Aukrasanden urban area, so its population is no longer tracked separately. Nyhamna
Nyhamna is a small peninsula on the northeast side of the island of Gossa in Aukra Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located along the Julsundet strait, about northeast of the village of Varhaugvika and northeast of the village of Aukrasanden. The area was once a whaling station, but is now an industrial area. Since 2002, it has been the landing place of the natural gas from the Ormen Lange (gas field) gas field. Gossa (island)
Gossa (dative: Gossen) is an island in Aukra Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The island encompasses most of the municipality and has a ferry connection from the village of Aukrasanden across the Julsundet strait to the village of Hollingen on the mainland. About 80% of the municipal population (about 2,500 people) is located on the island. The island is flat and swampy, but it is well cultivated by farmland wherever possible. There are also some planted forests. The highest point on the island is the tall ''Jærmannburet''. Romsdal is a traditional district in the Norwegian county Møre og Romsdal, located between Nordmøre and Sunnmøre.
