Vardi (film)
''Vardi '' (trans: ''Police Uniform'') is a 1989 Bollywood action film, action crime film directed by Umesh Mehra. It stars Sunny Deol, Jackie Shroff, Kimi Katkar, Madhuri Dixit in pivotal roles. Plot When Inspector Verma arrests the criminal Lalchand, the latter exacts his revenge by kidnapping Verma's only son, Anil. He later informs Verma that he has killed the boy. While trying to apprehend Lalchand, Verma's loyal accomplice and friend, Havaldar Bhagwan Singh is killed by the criminal. Verma and his wife Shanti then decide to raise Bhagwan Singh's son Ajay as their own. Many years pass and Ajay grows up to be an honest and brave police inspector while Verma has become the Commissioner of Police. Thomas Beach Alter (22 June 1950 – 29 September 2017) was an Indian actor. He was best known for his works in Hindi cinema, and Indian theatre. In 2008, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Early life Born in Mussoorie in present-day Uttarakhand, Alter was the son of American Presbyterian missionaries of English, Scottish and Swiss German ancestry and lived for years in Mumbai and the Himalayan hill station of Landour. Sadhana Sargam (née Ghanekar, born 7 March 1969) is an Indian singer known for her playback career in Indian cinema predominantly in Hindi, Bengali, Telugu and Tamil language films. Early life Anand Bakshi (Bakshi Anand Prakash Vaid) was born in Rawalpindi in the Punjab Province of British India (now in Punjab, Pakistan), on 21 July 1930 into a Mohyal Brahmin family of the Vaid clan. The family arrived in Delhi, via a Dakota aircraft after the Partition of India and then migrated to Pune, then Meerut and settled again finally in Delhi. Bakshi was fond of writing poetry since his youth, but he did this mostly as a private hobby.
