Anthony Varallo (born June 12, 1970) is an author and professor of English] at the College of Charleston. Biography Anthony Varallo was born and raised in Yorklyn, Delaware. He attended the University of Delaware where he received a bachelor's degree in both English and History in 1992. In 1997 he graduated from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop with an MFA. He met his wife, writer Malinda McCollum, in the program. He later went on to pursue his PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Missouri in 2005. He serves as the fiction editor of ''Crazyhorse'' at the College of Charleston. He now lives in Charleston, South Carolina, with his wife and two children. Francisco Varallo
Francisco Antonio “Pancho” Varallo (; – ) was an Argentine football forward. He played for the Argentina national team from 1930 to 1937. He represented Argentina at the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930. During his career, Varallo won four Primera División titles (one with Gimnasia y Esgrima LP and three with Boca Juniors) and with 194 goals in 222 official matches, is Boca Juniors' 3rd. highest all-time leading goalscorer. Besides, Varallo is placed 11th. among the all-time Argentine Primera División top scorers with 216 goals. Varallo died in his home-town of La Plata on , at the age of 100. Mary Varallo
Mary Frascone Varallo (June 11, 1897 – November 27, 1979) was a Democratic politician from Philadelphia who served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Philadelphia City Council. Varallo was born Mary Frascone in South Philadelphia in 1897, the daughter of Italian immigrants Agostino and Caterina Frascone. She graduated from West Philadelphia High School and later took classes at Peirce School of Business, the Charles Morris Price School of Advertising and Journalism, Temple University, the Pennsylvania School of Criminology, and the Leefson-Hille Conservatory. After marrying in 1921 to Alfred Varallo, she worked as a church organist. She and Alfred were married until her death in 1979, but never had any children. In addition to local Italian-American organizations, Varallo became involved in local Democratic Party politics in Philadelphia in the 1940s.
