Vanuatu Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Vanuatu women's national rugby sevens team is Vanuatu's national representative in rugby sevens. History Vanuatu made their international debut at the 2019 Oceania Women's Sevens Championship against hosts, Fiji. They placed tenth overall out of twelve competing teams. They had their first taste of international sevens when they played New Caledonia ahead of the Pacific Games in Samoa earlier that year. HFC Bank Stadium
The HFC Bank Stadium ( formally known as ANZ Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Suva, Fiji. HFC Stadium is used primarily for rugby league, rugby union and football matches, and features a track as well as a pitch suitable for worldwide competition. It has undercover seating for 4,000 spectators, and concrete and grass embankments that increase the capacity to 15,000 people. Construction and renovations Originally called Buckhurst Park, the stadium was constructed in 1951 on sixteen hectares of land given by William H. B. Buckhurst in 1948. The stadium was first renovated in 1978–1979 for the Sixth South Pacific Games. Work commenced in April 1978 with the demolition of the grandstand, which had lost its roof during Hurricane Bebe. 2019 Oceania Women's Sevens Championship
The 2019 Oceania Women's Sevens Championship was the ninth Oceania Women's Sevens tournament. It served as the regional qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Sevens and was held at ANZ Stadium in Suva, Fiji on 7–9 November. Australia won the tournament to claim their fifth Oceania Championship, defeating Fiji by 24–12 in the final. Runners-up Fiji, as the highest-placed side not already qualified, won the Oceania berth at the 2020 Olympic Sevens in Tokyo. Papua New Guinea and Samoa finished fourth and fifth respectively and, as the second and third highest-placed sides not already qualified, won entry to the 2020 Final Olympic Qualifier as well as the 2020 Hong Kong Women's Sevens qualifying tournament for the 2020–21 World Women's Sevens Series. Fiji Women's National Rugby Sevens Team
The Fiji women's national rugby sevens team represents Fiji at regional and international sevens tournaments. They have won three Pacific Games gold medals, two Oceania Championships, a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze medal at the Summer Olympics. They also compete in the World Rugby Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. History Fiji won the gold medal at the 2011 Pacific Games in Nouméa, New Caledonia. They qualified for the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Russia where they won the Bowl final. The Fijiana won the 2015 Oceania Women's Sevens in Auckland and qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. The 2022 Oceania Women's Sevens Championship was held in Pukekohe, New Zealand on 24–26 June. It was the eleventh edition of the Oceania Championship in women's rugby sevens. The competition served as one of the final events for Oceania Rugby national teams ahead of the Commonwealth Games in July and the Sevens World Cup in September.
