Vanuatu Cricket
Vanuatu Cricket, officially the Vanuatu Cricket Association, is the national Sport governing body, governing body of the sport of cricket in Vanuatu. Its current headquarters is in Port Vila, Vanuatu. Vanuatu Cricket Association is Vanuatu's representative at the International Cricket Council and is an associate member and has been a member of that body since 2009. It is also a member of the East Asia-Pacific Cricket Council. The Senior Men's Team achieved Associate status with the ICC after winning the prestigious ICC EAP Cup in 2009 (undefeated). In March 2021, Tim Cutler, formerly the CEO of Hong Kong Cricket Association, was appointed as the CEO of Vanuatu Cricket replacing Shane Deitz. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is the world governing body of cricket. East Asia-Pacific Cricket Council
ICC East Asia-Pacific is the International Cricket Council region responsible for administration of the sport of cricket in East Asia and the Pacific area. The region was founded in 1996 with a regional office established in 1999. The area covered by the region includes two Test nations, four ICC associate members and five ICC affiliate nations. The region is headed by the Regional Development Manager, Andrew Faichney, based in Australia at the offices of Cricket Australia. The region is supported by the Australian and New Zealand cricket team and these are the only official Test cricket members in the region. Port Vila (french: Port-Vila), or simply Vila (; french: Vila; bi, Vila ), is the capital and largest city of Vanuatu. It is located on the island of Efate. Tim Cutler
Timothy Lawrence Cutler (born 23 March 1982), is an Australian born Hong Kong cricket player and administrator. He is a right-hand bat as well as slow left-arm orthodox who had played cricket for the Hong Kong Cricket Club in the Hong Kong domestic cricket competitions. He is the founder of Emerging Cricket which he established in late 2018. Career Cutler initially pursued his career in marine insurance straightaway after finishing his high school education. Jeremy Bray (cricketer)
Jeremy Paul Bray (born 30 November 1973) is an Australian-Irish cricket coach and former player. He played as a left-handed top order batsman and part-time wicketkeeper. He grew up in Australia and played for the Australia under-19s and briefly for New South Wales, later moving to Ireland and playing ODIs and Twenty20 Internationals for the national team between 2004 and 2009. Since retiring from playing he has coached Ireland women, Denmark, and Vanuatu. Cricket Hong Kong () is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Hong Kong. Its current headquarters is in So Kon Po, Causeway Bay. Shane Deitz
Shane Alan Deitz (born 4 May 1975) is an Australian cricket coach and former player. He played first-class cricket for the Southern Redbacks as a left-handed top-order batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. He was appointed coach of the Netherlands women's national team in 2020, having previously served as head coach (and briefly playing coach) of the Vanuatu men's national team and also as CEO of Vanuatu Cricket. New Hebrides
New Hebrides, officially the New Hebrides Condominium (french: link=no, Condominium des Nouvelles-Hébrides, "Condominium of the New Hebrides") and named after the Hebrides Scottish archipelago, was the colonial name for the island group in the South Pacific Ocean that is now Vanuatu.
