Vannakili
''Vannakili'' () is a 1959 Indian Tamil-language film, directed by T. R. Raghunath and produced by T. R. Sundaram. The film stars Manohar, Prem Nazir, B. S. Saroja and T. R. Ramachandran. It was released on 3 April 1959, and became a success. Plot The village landlord, a widower with a college-educated daughter Saraswathi in love with her father's farmhand Mayan, has an eye on the farmhand's sister, Vannakili. Mayan, however, declines the proposal of the landlord who suggests they could work out an exchange of alliances. Meanwhile, the village macho Poochie falls for Vannakili, kidnaps her and marries her against her wishes. Mynavathi
Mynavathi (26 July 1935 – 10 November 2012) was an Indian actress. She made her first screen appearance as an actor in the 1955 Kannada film ''Santa Sakhu'' and acted in over 100 Kannada films. She was the younger sister of another popular Kannada actress Pandari Bai. She became popular after her role in the 1959 Kannada film ''Abba Aa Hudugi'', which co-starred Rajkumar and her sister Pandari Bai and was directed by H. L. N. Simha. In the film, she played the role of an autocratic girl who hates men. It was based on William Shakespeare's play ''The Taming of the Shrew''. Modern Theaters Ltd was an Indian film studio in Salem, Tamil Nadu started by T. R. Sundaram Mudaliar in 1935. The studio produced over more than 150 films until 1982 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Sinhalese and even English of which Tamil were the majority. History In the early 1930s, T. R. Sundaram entered the world of Tamil cinema as a partner of a Salem-based film company, Angel Films.
