Vanessa Panousis
Vanessa Vassiliki Panousis (born 23 February 1995) is an Australian professional basketball player. Career College Panousis played college basketball for the Virginia Tech Hokies in Blacksburg, Virginia in the Atlantic Coast Conference. She had a very successful college career. Being named to the ACC All-Academic Team twice. She was also known to the ACC All-Tournament Second Team in her sophomore year, alongside the likes of eventual No. 1 pick in the 2015 WNBA draft, Jewell Loyd. Guard (basketball)
In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center. Abby Bishop (born 29 November 1988) is an Australian professional basketball forward/center who plays for Southside Flyers of the Australian WNBL. 2017–18 WNBL Season
The 2017–18 WNBL season was the 38th season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The regular season began on 5 October 2017, with the Melbourne Boomers visiting the Dandenong Rangers. The Sydney Uni Flames were the defending champions but were defeated in the Semi Finals by Townsville. The Townsville Fire took home their third WNBL championship after defeating Melbourne, 2–0. This season sees the return to television, with Fox Sports broadcasting the WNBL for the first time since 2015. Spalding once again provided equipment including the official game ball, whilst iAthletic took over supplying team apparel. 2012–13 WNBL Season
The 2012–13 WNBL season was the 33rd season of competition since the Women's National Basketball League's establishment in 1981. A total of nine teams contested the league. The regular season was played between 5 October 2012 and 16 February 2013, followed by a post-season involving the top five on 23 February 2013 until 10 March 2013. Broadcast rights were held by free-to-air network ABC. ABC broadcast one game a week, at 3 pm at every standard time in Australia.
