Vanessa Landi
Vanessa Landi (born 12 September 1997) is an Italian archer competing in women's recurve events. Landi and Mauro Nespoli won the bronze medal in the mixed team recurve event at the 2019 World Archery Championships held in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. At the 2018 European Archery Championships in Legnica, Poland, she won the silver medal in the women's team recurve event and the gold medal in the mixed recurve team event. In 2019, Landi represented Italy at the European Games held in Minsk, Belarus without winning a medal. At the 2019 Archery World Cup she won, alongside Tatiana Andreoli and Lucilla Boari, the silver medal in the women's team recurve event in Medellín, Colombia. In 2021, Landi competed at the World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. Recurve Bow
In archery, a recurve bow is one of the main shapes a bow can take, with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. A recurve bow stores more energy and delivers energy more efficiently than the equivalent straight-limbed bow, giving a greater amount of energy and speed to the arrow. A recurve will permit a shorter bow than the simple straight limb bow for given arrow energy, and this form was often preferred by archers in environments where long weapons could be cumbersome, such as in brush and forest terrain, or while on horseback. Recurved limbs also put greater stress on the materials used to make the bow, and they may make more noise with the shot. Extreme recurves make the bow unstable when being strung. An unstrung recurve bow can have a confusing shape and many Native American weapons, when separated from their original owners and cultures, were incorrectly strung backwards and destroyed when attempts were made to shoot them. Lucilla Boari
Lucilla Boari (born 24 March 1997) is an Italian Recurve bow, recurve archery, archer who has represented Italy at the Summer Olympics, Italy at the 2016 Summer Olympics and at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She has additionally competed for her country at the 2018 Mediterranean Games and the 2019 European Games, in which she won an individual gold and silver medal, respectively. Career 2016 Summer Olympics Boari secured two qualification spots for her country in the final world qualification tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics, delivering the shot that claimed victory over Chinese Taipei to give Italy a full Olympic berth of three archers. Tatiana Andreoli (born 1 January 1999) is an Italian recurve archer. At the 2019 European Games held in Minsk, Belarus, she won the gold medal in the women's individual recurve event. The World Archery Championships are a series of competitions in Archery organised by the World Archery Federation (WA). The first competition held under that title took place in 1931. Competition archery takes a wide variety of formats, but the title World Championships is commonly reserved for the following three events: # Outdoor World Championships in target Archery # Indoor World Championships in target Archery # World Championships in field Archery.
