Vanesa Kaladzinskaya
Vanesa Kaladzinskaya ( be, Ванэса Валер'еўна Каладзінская; born 27 December 1992, in Babruysk) is a Belarusian freestyle wrestler. She competed in the freestyle 48 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics; after defeating Zhuldyz Eshimova in the 1/8 finals, she was eliminated by Carol Huynh in the quarterfinals. In March 2021, she qualified at the European Qualification Tournament to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She won one of the bronze medals in the women's 53 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. Babruysk
Babruysk, Babrujsk or Bobruisk ( be, Бабруйск , Łacinka: , rus, Бобруйск, Bobrujsk, bɐˈbruɪ̯s̪k, yi, באָברויסק ) is a city in the Mogilev Region of eastern Belarus on the Berezina River. , its population was 209,675. The name Babrujsk (as well as that of the Babruyka River) probably originates from the Belarusian word (; 'beaver'), many of which used to inhabit the Berezina. However, beavers in the area had been almost eliminated by the end of the 19th century due to hunting and pollution. Carol Huynh
Carol Huynh (; born 16 November 1980) is a retired Canadian freestyle wrestler. Huynh was the first gold medalist for Canada in women's wrestling and was the first gold medallist for Canada at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She is also the 2010 Commonwealth Games and two time Pan American Games champion. She has also achieved success at the world championships where Huynh has totaled one silver and three bronze medals. Huynh is also an eleven time national champion. Following the 2012 Olympics, Huynh retired from competition and started coaching the University of Calgary Dinos wrestling team. Huynh was elected to the United World Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2013. In early 2015 she was selected as a United World Wrestling Super 8 Ambassador for the global campaign focusing on the development of women in wrestling and has also served as the Chair of the United World Wrestling Athletes Commission from 2013 to 2017. Zhuldyz Eshimova
Zhuldyz Eshimova (born 2 January 1988 in Talas) is a Kyrgyz-born female wrestler who competes for Kazakhstan. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the women's -48 kg freestyle division, losing to Vanessa Kolodinskaya in the second round. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, she competed in the same division. She lost to eventual gold medalist Eri Tosaka in her first match. Because Tosaka reached the gold medal round, Eshimova took part in the repechage. She beat Haley Augello in the first round of the repechage, but lost to Sun Yanan in her bronze medal match. In 2022, she competed at the Yasar Dogu Tournament held in Istanbul, Turkey. She won the bronze medal in her event at the 2022 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This freestyle wrestling competition consists of a single-elimination tournament, with a repechage used to determine the winner of two bronze medals. Freestyle wrestling is a style of wrestling originated from Great Britain and the United States. Along with Greco-Roman, it is one of the two styles of wrestling contested in the Olympic Games. American high school and men's college wrestling is conducted under different rules and is termed scholastic and collegiate wrestling. American collegiate women's wrestling is conducted under freestyle rules. Freestyle wrestling, like collegiate wrestling, has its greatest origins in catch-as-catch-can wrestling. In both styles the ultimate goal is to throw and pin the opponent to the mat, which results in an immediate win.
