''Vandalize'' is the 3rd studio album from visual kei rock band Alice Nine. It was released on January 19, 2009. The album contains eleven tracks, compiling the band's three previous singles (" Mirror Ball", " Rainbows", and "Cross Game") and eight new songs. The album was released in two versions: a regular edition, and a limited edition of the album, which includes a DVD that features live footage, a promotional music video for "the beautiful name," and a special package design. The album debuted on the Oricon Chart with a #3 daily and a #7 weekly, with total sales of 13,111 recorded. Alice Nine
is a Japanese visual kei rock band formed in Tokyo in 2004. They were a part of PS Company until 2014. The band had King Records as its record label until 2010, when they joined Tokuma Japan. Then, in 2013, the band joined Universal Music Group's Nayutawave Records. They shortened their name to A9 in 2015, but switched back to Alice Nine in 2019. Alice Nine has released six full-length records, some of which were distributed in Europe by CLJ Records, along with several EPs, singles, and DVDs. History 2004–2006: Conception and early work In August 2004, Alice Nine formed after the disbandment of the band Givuss, and the band's vocalist, Shou, and guitarist Tora continued on to search for members to form a new band. Power Pop
Power pop (also typeset as powerpop) is a form of pop rock based on the early music of bands such as the Who, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and the Byrds. King Records (Japan)
, commonly known as King Records, is a Japanese record company founded in January 1931 as a division of the Japanese publisher Kodansha. Free-Will
is a Japanese independent record label founded in 1986 by Color vocalist Hiroshi "Dynamite Tommy" Tomioka, with branches predominantly in Japan and the United States, as well as previously in Europe. It also continues to co-manage many of its artists after they have signed recording contracts with a major record label. ''Alpha'' is the second full-length studio album from visual kei rock band Alice Nine. It was released on the November 28th, 2007. Alpha includes 12 tracks, 4 of which were previously released as singles. Two versions of the album were released on the same day: one regular edition with only the CD, and one special edition with an exclusive DVD that includes two new music videos. "Mirror Ball" (typeset as MIRROR BALL) is a single by Alice Nine, released on March 26, 2008. The title track is the theme song of the live-action adaption of collectible card game and anime ''Aquarian Age'' (specifically, one of the stories, ''Juvenile Orion''), in which the band also appears. The single was released in three versions: two limited editions and one regular edition. The limited editions contain a second B-side, "Kiseki," and an additional DVD with a single music video. "Rainbows" is the 13th maxi single by Alice Nine. It was released on August 6, 2008 in three different versions. Each version contains the title track and a B-side, which may include a booklet, a music video, or another bonus track, respectively within the three versions. The single marks a significant change in the band's overall dress style which no longer resembles their original Visual Kei look. In Japan, the single went straight to #3 on the Oricon daily charts, selling over 3,500 copies on its first day and marking their highest position on a mainstream Japanese music chart to date. Visual Kei
is a movement among Japanese musicians that is characterized by the use of varying levels of make-up, elaborate hair styles and flamboyant costumes, often, but not always, coupled with androgynous aesthetics, similar to Western glam rock. Some Western sources consider visual kei a music genre, with its sound usually related to glam rock, punk rock and heavy metal. However, visual kei acts play various genres, including those considered by some as unrelated to rock such as electronic, pop, etc. Other sources, including members of the movement themselves, state that it is not a music genre and that the freedom of expression, fashion, and participation in the related subculture is what exemplifies the use of the term.
