Maarten van Rossem (born 24 October 1943) is a Dutch historian, presenter and commentator. He specializes in the history and politics of the United States. As an expert on America, he is a frequent guest on television talk shows. His public career started when he was asked to comment on the 1984 vice presidential elections. He makes regular TV appearances and gives frequent public lectures. Early life and education Born in 1943 in Zeist, Van Rossem grew up in Wageningen (Netherlands). In his youth he became fascinated with the United States through a visit from his three American cousins. When they came to visit his parents, they each had their own photo camera with them. Adriaan Joseph Van Rossem
Adriaan Joseph van Rossem (December 17, 1892 in Chicago – September 4, 1949) was an American ornithologist of Dutch ancestry. He came from an affluent family where his father died very early in his life. Van Rossem went on to attend both public and private schools. In his teens he became influenced by Joseph Grinnell who led him into ornithology. He later did much work with Donald Ryder Dickey and shared the 1941 Brewster Medal with him. He was curator of the Donald Ryder Dickey Collection (first housed at the California Institute of Technology and later at the University of California Los Angeles) from 1912 to his death. He was a 1939 Guggenheim Fellow and received an honorary doctorate from Occidental College in 1948. Jean-Pierre Van Rossem (29 May 1945 – 13 December 2018) was a Belgian stock market guru, economist, econometrician, convicted fraudster, author, philosopher, public figure, politician, and member of the Belgian and Flemish Parliaments. Joris Van Rossem (born 4 January 1991), known artistically as Metejoor, is a Belgian pop singer who sings in Dutch. He topped the Ultratop charts in Flanders with the singles "1 op een miljoen" and "Dit is wat mijn mama zei", from his self-titled debut album that topped the respective album chart. Music career Born in Duffel, Metejoor wanted to be a gymnastics instructor before pursuing music.
