Flemish Brabant ( nl, Vlaams-Brabant ; french: Brabant flamand ) is a province of Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium. It borders on (clockwise from the North) the Belgian provinces of Antwerp, Limburg, Liège, Walloon Brabant, Hainaut and East Flanders. Flemish Brabant also surrounds the Brussels-Capital Region. Its capital is Leuven. It has an area of which is divided into two administrative districts (''arrondissementen'' in Dutch) containing 65 municipalities. As of January 2019, Flemish Brabant has a population of 1,146,175. Henri-Émile Van Cutsem (1839–1904) was a Belgian patron of the arts, and also himself a painter Biography Van Cutsem was born in Brussels into a family of hoteliers who had become wealthy from their business. He studied law at Liège. During long stays in Paris he developed good relations with many of the artistic community. In 1890 he acquired two adjacent blocks of flats on the Avenue des Arts in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode which he had refurbished by Victor Horta. He died in Ochamps of pneumonia. Patronage Van Cutsem developed his father's art collections and gave his moral and financial support to many artists, notably the sculptor Guillaume Charlier, to whom Van Cutsem bequeathed his property on the Avenue des Arts, which after Charlier's death became the Charlier Museum, established on 21 October 1928. Lady Margaret Fortescue (13 December 1923 – 25 May 2013) was a British huntswoman, and one of the country's largest private landowners, including the Castle Hill estate and of Exmoor. Early life Lady Margaret Fortescue was born on 13 December 1923 at Ebrington Manor, Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, the elder daughter of Hugh Fortescue, 5th Earl Fortescue (1888–1958), and his wife, the Hon. William van Cutsem (8 September 1935 – 14 May 2018), better known by his pen name William Vance, was a Belgian comics artist known for his distinctive realistic style and work in Franco-Belgian comics. Biography William van Cutsem was born in Anderlecht near Brussels in 1935. After his military service in 1955–1956, he studied for four years at the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Originally from Flanders, he worked most of his life in France, and moved later to Santander, Spain. William Vance started drawing for the Franco-Belgian comics magazine ''Tintin (magazine), Tintin'' in 1962. After drawing complete real-life stories of four pages for a few years, he started work on his first series, ''Howard Flynn'', written by Yves Duval.
