Rudolf Otto von Büren (born 19 September 1822 in Bern - died 25 December 1888 in Bern) was a Swiss politician who served as the fourth mayor of Bern. Personal life Otto von Büren came from the patrician family von Büren. He followed education at private schools and followed further education at the university of Bern. He studied history and law in Bern and Neuchatel. He then spent a long time abroad and settled in the family castle on the family estate for a while. He married Henriette von Sinner. Political career Von Büren was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern from 1850 to 1864 and a member of the National Council (lower house of the federal parliament) from 1864 to 1884. He belonged to the Protestant conservative opposition and worked closely with the Catholic conservative opposition. Armin von Büren (20 April 1928 – 10 February 2018) was a Swiss cyclist. A professional from 1948 to 1962 and a specialist in six-day races, he competed in 58 and won 13. He also won the European Madison Championships in 1953 and 1954 and the European Omnium Championships in 1956. Mauritz Christiaan Willem Egmond "Mosey" van Buuren (12 August 1865 – 3 October 1950) was a South African international rugby union player who played as a wing. Personal Born in Burgersdorp to Mauritz and Elizabeth (Harris), he attended Diocesan College in Cape Town. He married Edith van der Merwe and after her death in 1901, he married Helena Kotze. Van Buuren died in 1950, in Bedfordview, at the age of 85. Meindert van Buuren, Jr. (born 5 January 1995) is a Dutch former racing driver, who currently resides in Rockanje. Career Karting Van Buuren began karting in 2004 at the age of nine and raced mostly in various Dutch championships, working his way up from the junior ranks to progress through to the Rotax Max DD2 category by 2011, when he finished in fourth position in the Rotax Max Wintercup. Formula Renault 2.0 2011 saw his début in the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. Van Buuren finished 21st in the championship, despite missing the final round of the championship, at Monza.
