Jackie van Beek (born 10 May 1976) is a New Zealand film and television director, writer and actress. Early life Van Beek was born and raised in Wellington and attended Onslow College. She studied contemporary dance at the Wellington Performing Arts Centre, then completed a linguistics degree at Victoria University of Wellington, graduating in 1998. Throughout her studies she wrote and produced plays in Wellington theatres and schools. Career In 1999 van Beek moved to Auckland and worked on theatre productions, and she spent a year at Ohio Northern University as the writer-in-residence. Cato Bontjes van Beek (; 14 November 1920 – 5 August 1943) was a German member of the Resistance against the Nazi regime. Early years Born in Bremen, Cato was the eldest of three children. She spent her childhood and youth in the nearby Fischerhude artists' colony around her uncle Otto Modersohn. Her parents, the Dutch-born potter Jan Bontjes van Beek (1899–1969) and dancer and painter Olga Bontjes van Beek ( Breling; 1896–1995) offered their children considerable personal freedom while growing up. Sven van Beek (born 28 July 1994) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Eredivisie club Heerenveen. Rob Van Beek (born August 18, 1983) is a professional indoor lacrosse player. He attended St. Vincent College. He is from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia. Martin Van Beek
Marinus Jan "Martin" van Beek (; 1 April 1960 – 26 August 2018) was a Dutch politician representing the Party for Freedom in the Senate (Netherlands), Senate. Between 2006 and 2009, van Beek studied New Business Development at the Business School Nederland, earning an MBA. He was a member of the Dutch Senate (Netherlands), Senate between 2 October 2012 and 9 June 2015 and again from 28 March 2017 until 25 October 2017, when he was temporarily replaced by Max Aardema due to illness. He returned on 14 February 2018 and left once again on 14 March 2018 to be replaced by Aardema once more. Van Beek returned to the Senate on 4 July 2018. Van Beek died at the age of 58 in Leersum on 26 August 2018 due to an accident. At the time of his death he was owner of a wholesale business in medical products. References
